Store Helper / Warehouse Helper – Qualifications

Education

• Minimum High School / Secondary School certificate preferred.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematics skills.
• Additional warehouse or logistics training is an advantage.

Experience

• 1–2 years of experience as a Store Helper, Warehouse Helper, Stock Assistant, or similar position.
• Previous experience in foodstuff, FMCG, supermarket, restaurant supply, or general trading is preferred.
• UAE warehouse experience is an advantage.
• Experience handling dry, chilled, and frozen food products is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate should be able to:

• Assist the Storekeeper/Warehouse Supervisor with daily warehouse activities.
• Receive and unload goods from suppliers.
• Check delivered items against the delivery documents.
• Arrange products properly in designated storage areas.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) procedures.
• Assist with daily and monthly stock counting.
• Pick and prepare items according to customer or branch orders.
• Pack, label, and organize products for delivery.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles safely.
• Move cartons and products using trolleys, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
• Report damaged, expired, missing, or incorrect products to the Storekeeper.
• Ensure products are stored according to their required conditions.
• Assist in checking expiry dates and product conditions.
• Support stock transfers between warehouse locations or branches.
• Follow company health, safety, and hygiene procedures.

Foodstuff Warehouse Knowledge

For Excellence General Trading, I would consider these especially important:

FIFO / FEFO → Expiry Control → Proper Storage → Stock Counting → Order Picking → Loading/Dispatch

The candidate should understand that products with the earliest expiry dates should normally be dispatched first, while maintaining the required storage conditions.

Preferred Additional Qualifications

• Previous experience with ERP/Warehouse Management Systems.
• Basic Microsoft Excel knowledge.
• Familiarity with barcode scanners.
• UAE food safety/food handling training is an advantage.
• UAE driving license is an advantage, but should not be mandatory if the position is purely warehouse/store helper.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in warehouse, store, FMCG, foodstuff, or general trading operations.
• Previous UAE warehouse experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of FIFO and FEFO procedures.
• Experience in receiving, arranging, picking, packing, loading, and dispatching goods.
• Ability to assist with physical stock counts and inventory checks.
• Good knowledge of proper product storage and expiry-date monitoring.
• Physically fit and capable of handling warehouse duties and lifting cartons.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to follow instructions from the Storekeeper and Warehouse Supervisor.
• Honest, reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Basic English communication and basic mathematics required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Foodstuff/FMCG experience is highly preferred.
• UAE experience is an advantage.
• Candidates who can join immediately are preferred.
