MEP Project Manager

Our sister company, Barbuda Electromechanical Works LLC, is looking for a highly experienced and competent MEP Project Manager with strong experience in high-rise building projects in the UAE.

Job Summary

The MEP Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, executing and successfully completing all Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing works for high-rise building projects. The candidate must ensure that all MEP activities are completed within the approved programme and budget while meeting project quality, safety and authority requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the complete MEP scope from project mobilization through testing, commissioning and final handover.
• Plan and supervise HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage and firefighting activities.
• Review contract documents, technical specifications, BOQs, approved drawings and project requirements.
• Develop MEP execution plans, work programmes, manpower schedules, procurement schedules and resource plans.
• Coordinate MEP installations with civil, structural, architectural and façade works to prevent clashes and delays.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and relevant authorities.
• Ensure the timely preparation, submission and approval of shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and technical documents.
• Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards and UAE authority requirements.
• Control project progress, manpower productivity, material consumption, procurement activities and project costs.
• Identify technical, commercial and programme risks and implement the necessary corrective actions.
• Resolve technical issues, design conflicts and site coordination challenges promptly.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure that all works are completed according to contractual requirements.
• Conduct progress and coordination meetings and submit accurate reports to senior management.
• Review and manage RFIs, MIRs, WIRs, variations, additional works and subcontractor claims.
• Ensure compliance with the company’s quality, health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, testing and commissioning of all MEP systems.
• Manage snagging activities and ensure the timely closure of consultant and client comments.
• Coordinate authority inspections, approvals and permanent service connections.
• Ensure the timely submission of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, warranties and final handover documents.
• Deliver the complete MEP scope within the approved budget, quality standards and project completion schedule.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in MEP construction.
• Proven experience as an MEP Project Manager for high-rise building projects.
• Strong UAE experience in high-rise building construction is required.
• Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage and firefighting systems.
• Good knowledge of UAE authority regulations, construction codes and technical standards.
• Proven experience in project planning, execution, cost control, testing, commissioning and final handover.
• Strong leadership and team-management capabilities.
• Excellent communication, coordination, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict project deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office and relevant project planning and management software.
