FIT-OUT JOINERY SUPERVISOR
Position: Fit-Out & Joinery Supervisor
Department: Projects / Joinery / Operations
Reports To: Fit-Out Project Manager / Project Manager
Location: UAE
Employment Type: Full-Time
1. Job Purpose
The Fit-Out & Joinery Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating joinery manufacturing, installation, and interior fit-out works at project sites. The position ensures that all joinery and fit-out works are executed according to approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project schedules, and client requirements.
The Supervisor will manage site workers, carpenters, joiners, subcontractors, materials, and daily installation activities to ensure timely and high-quality completion of the project.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesJoinery & Fit-Out Site Supervision
- Supervise daily joinery and interior fit-out activities at project sites.
- Coordinate installation of custom-made joinery and interior elements.
- Ensure all works are executed according to approved shop drawings and specifications.
- Monitor workmanship, dimensions, alignment, levels, finishing, and installation quality.
- Coordinate joinery installation with other trades such as MEP, ceiling, flooring, painting, and glass works.
- Ensure completed works are properly protected from damage.
Joinery Works
Supervise the installation of:
- Custom-made furniture
- Wall paneling and decorative cladding
- Doors and door frames
- Cabinets and wardrobes
- Reception counters
- Kitchen cabinets
- Display units
- Retail fixtures
- Office furniture
- Vanity units
- Wooden partitions
- Feature walls
- Timber ceilings
- Decorative woodwork
- Shelving and storage units
- Hotel and hospitality joinery
- Bespoke interior finishes
Drawing & Technical Coordination
- Read and interpret joinery shop drawings, architectural drawings, and details.
- Ensure installation is carried out according to the latest approved drawings.
- Verify site dimensions before fabrication and installation.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings, manufactured items, and site conditions.
- Coordinate with the Design Manager, Project Manager, draftsmen, and site engineers regarding technical issues.
- Ensure all drawing revisions are properly communicated to the workshop and installation teams.
Workshop & Production Coordination
- Coordinate with the joinery workshop regarding production and delivery schedules.
- Verify that fabricated items are manufactured according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate site measurements and production requirements.
- Monitor production progress and report delays.
- Coordinate delivery of finished joinery items to the project site.
- Ensure materials and finished products are properly handled and protected during transportation.
Manpower Management
- Allocate daily tasks to carpenters, joiners, installers, helpers, and subcontractors.
- Monitor manpower attendance, productivity, and performance.
- Ensure sufficient manpower is available according to the project schedule.
- Train and guide workers regarding proper installation methods.
- Report manpower shortages or performance issues to the Project Manager.
Material Management
- Check materials and joinery items delivered to site.
- Verify materials against approved samples and specifications.
- Monitor the use of timber, MDF, plywood, laminates, veneers, hardware, adhesives, fittings, and other materials.
- Minimize material wastage and damage.
- Ensure proper storage of joinery materials and finished products.
- Report material shortages or quality issues immediately.
Quality Control
- Inspect joinery items before installation and after completion.
- Ensure correct dimensions, alignment, levels, joints, gaps, edges, finishes, and hardware installation.
- Check laminates, veneers, paints, PU finishes, melamine, and other surface finishes.
- Ensure doors, drawers, hinges, locks, handles, and accessories operate correctly.
- Identify defective work and coordinate immediate rectification.
- Ensure all works meet approved samples and client expectations.
Site Coordination
- Coordinate joinery works with civil, architectural, MEP, ceiling, flooring, painting, and other trades.
- Ensure work areas are ready before joinery installation.
- Coordinate access, storage, delivery, and installation schedules.
- Attend site coordination meetings when required.
- Report site constraints, delays, clashes, and technical issues to the Project Manager.
Client & Consultant Coordination
- Assist the Project Manager during client and consultant inspections.
- Coordinate mock-ups, samples, and material inspections.
- Address minor site queries and coordinate technical clarifications.
- Ensure client comments are properly communicated to the relevant team.
- Assist in achieving client approval for completed joinery works.
Health & Safety
- Ensure all workers follow site safety rules and company HSE procedures.
- Ensure proper PPE is used during installation.
- Monitor safe use of hand tools, power tools, ladders, and equipment.
- Maintain good housekeeping in work areas.
- Report unsafe conditions, accidents, and incidents immediately.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of joinery materials.
Snagging & Handover
- Conduct detailed inspections of completed joinery works.
- Prepare and monitor snag lists.
- Coordinate rectification of defects and incomplete works.
- Ensure all doors, cabinets, drawers, hardware, and fittings are properly functioning.
- Complete final quality checks before client inspection.
- Assist with final project handover and close-out documentation.
3. Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Joinery, Carpentry, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in joinery and interior fit-out projects.
- Strong UAE/GCC experience in joinery installation and fit-out works preferred.
- Proven experience supervising carpenters, joiners, installers, and subcontractors.
- Experience in commercial, retail, hospitality, residential, office, or high-end fit-out projects is preferred.
4. Technical Skills
- Strong ability to read and interpret joinery shop drawings and architectural drawings.
- Good knowledge of joinery fabrication and installation methods.
- Strong knowledge of timber, MDF, plywood, veneer, laminates, solid wood, and finishing materials.
- Knowledge of joinery hardware, hinges, drawer systems, locks, handles, and fittings.
- Understanding of site measurements and installation tolerances.
- Basic AutoCAD knowledge is preferred.
- Good knowledge of interior finishing and fit-out construction.

7. Preferred Experience
Experience in luxury interior fit-out, hospitality, hotels, restaurants, retail outlets, corporate offices, high-end residential projects, commercial projects, and airport/aviation fit-out projects will be an advantage.
Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
