We are looking for an experienced and hands-on professional to join our FabLab team. In this role, you will develop and deliver applied learning in digital fabrication, electronics, programming and maker education, while supporting the safe, reliable and effective operation of SP FabLab. You will help students and partners translate ideas into functional prototypes through design, making, testing and iteration.

Key Responsibilities

1. Curriculum Design & Development

Design, implement, and review curriculum that integrates digital fabrication, innovation, and maker education aligned with SP’s Education Model and MOE directions. Lead the development of hands-on, interdisciplinary learning modules to promote applied learning and innovation.

2. Teacher Capacity Building & Professional Development

Conduct training and mentoring for teachers within SP and partner schools to strengthen teaching capability in design thinking and digital fabrication. Develop resources, workshops, and frameworks to scale Maker Education across schools.

3. Strategic Leadership & Partnerships

Lead and execute the FabLab Strategic & Scaling Plan to position SP as a national hub for Maker Education. Represent SP FabLab in national MOE initiatives, industry collaborations, and international networks (e.g., Fab Academy).

4. Innovation & Research

Drive innovation in pedagogy and applied technology integration within curriculum and outreach programs. Undertake research or pilot projects to evaluate impact and improve programme scalability.

5. Programme Quality Assurance

Ensure programme alignment with institutional and national quality standards. Establish sustainable systems for student and teacher engagement, evaluation, and progression.

[What we are looking for]

Essential Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Engineering, Design, Technology, or a related field. At least 5 years of relevant teaching and curriculum development experience, preferably in tertiary or applied learning environments. Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, project-based learning, and innovation pedagogy. Proven ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate hands-on, technology-enabled learning experiences. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills to collaborate with schools, MOE, and industry partners.

Preferred Requirements

Fab Academy Diploma or equivalent certification in Digital Fabrication / Maker Education is a plus. Experience in leading teacher training, educational innovation projects, or national education initiatives. Recognized track record in curriculum innovation, STEM/STEAM education, or design thinking integration. Experience working with national education agencies, research institutions, or international Maker networks. Curriculum and pedagogy innovation in Digital Fabrication, Design Thinking, and Maker Education. Integration of technology-enhanced learning and applied innovation into formal and informal education contexts. Leadership in scaling sustainable education models across schools and institutions.

Candidates should be prepared to present a technical portfolio and may be required to complete a teaching demonstration and/or practical technical assessment as part of the selection process.

Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
