Job description

Job Summary

You will develop and review process engineering documentation and designs, support project lifecycle activities, coordinate with stakeholders, and assist in site commissioning to ensure successful delivery of process engineering projects.

Responsibilities

Develop and review process engineering documents such as Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), system layouts, and equipment/instrumentation datasheets to meet project requirements

Perform process design calculations and prepare technical specifications aligned with engineering standards and project objectives

Support Concept Design, Basic Design, and Detailed Design phases by delivering accurate engineering inputs throughout the project lifecycle

Analyze client requirements, User Requirement Specifications (URS), and design criteria to ensure process systems fulfill project goals

Participate in tender preparation and evaluation by drafting technical specifications, clarifying tender queries, and producing Tender Recommendation Reports

Review vendor and subcontractor technical submissions for compliance with project specifications and technical standards

Collaborate with Design Managers, Lead/Senior Process Engineers, Project Managers, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical and interface issues

Engage with clients and project stakeholders during design reviews, technical meetings, and clarification sessions to align expectations and deliverables

Communicate project scope, approved designs, and technical requirements to Process Supervisors and site teams to ensure accurate implementation

Provide technical clarifications and resolve engineering issues during construction to support project execution

Assist with site acceptance testing, inspection, qualification, commissioning, system start-up, and handover activities to ensure operational readiness

Prepare and review testing, commissioning, and turnover documentation to maintain project quality and compliance

Support Lead/Senior Engineers in project cost estimation, budgeting, and engineering resource planning to optimize project delivery

Participate in risk assessments, process hazard analyses, and safety-related engineering activities to uphold safety standards

Ensure all engineering activities comply with international codes, standards, client specifications, quality requirements, and safety regulations

Promote safe working practices and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and project delivery

Perform additional engineering duties as assigned by management to support team and project needs

Required competencies and certifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline

2–5 years of relevant experience in process engineering, process design, or construction/project engineering

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Experience designing or constructing Deionized/Ultrapure Water (DI/UPW), Wastewater Treatment, Chemical Distribution, Gas Distribution, high-purity process, or industrial utility systems

Experience in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, life sciences, chemical, or other high-tech industrial projects

Familiarity with process engineering and design software

Exposure to tendering, vendor evaluation, construction, commissioning, or project handover

Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project environments and manage multiple priorities
