Turn Freight insights into a Competitive Advantage

Are you passionate about transforming complex transport data into valuable business insights? Do you thrive where logistics, analytics, and technology come together? We are looking for a Freight Data Analyst who will optimize global transportation performance, strengthen carrier collaboration, and support strategic decision-making through advanced data analysis.

In this role, your analysis directly moves the needle on cost, service, and sustainability. This is an opportunity to become part of a global team that is driving the transformation of transport and logistics within Machining. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Your Mission

Freight and logistics are at the center of a data-driven transformation. Real-time visibility platforms, AI-powered forecasting, sustainability reporting requirements, and advanced network optimization tools are fundamentally changing how goods move across global supply chains. As organizations strive to become more digital, resilient, and sustainable, the ability to translate data into actionable insights has become a critical competitive advantage.

To support this journey, Machining Logistics is looking for a highly motivated Freight data Analyst to strengthen our Global Transport team.

In this role, you will proactively collect, analyze, and simulate transport related data including costs, performance, service levels, and CO₂ emissions to drive data-driven decision-making and optimize transportation solutions across our five Global Distribution Centers worldwide. This is far more than a reporting role. You will play an active part in shaping transport strategy, influencing key decisions, and supporting initiatives that deliver value beyond the delivery. By identifying trends, uncovering optimization opportunities, and developing data-driven recommendations, you will directly contribute to the continuous improvement of our global transportation operations.

In this role you will work closely with Transportation, Procurement, Finance, Analytics, Operations and IT teams to unlock opportunities, automate reporting, and enable smarter freight decisions across our global network.

In this position, you report directly to the Head of Transport within Machining Logistics. Location is flexible between EDC (The Netherlands) or APDC (Singapore).  As part of a global business team, effective collaboration across regions and time zones is a natural element of the role.

Your responsibilities

Analyse global freight spend and transportation data to identify trends, network & cost-saving opportunities, and operational improvements (Parcel, Air, Ocean, Road, Intermodal)

Build and maintain dashboards and KPI reporting into clear business recommendations for senior stakeholders

Support regional freight managers with rate benchmarking, and RFP/RFQ data modeling

Support freight cost forecasting and freight cost reporting process and forecast freight cost trends against market indices and capacity conditions

Partnering with different stakeholders to translate data into business decisions

Contribute to sustainability reporting and identifying decarbonization opportunities including transportation-related emissions (Scope 3 / GHG data)

Participate in (digital) regional and global projects

Your profile

We are looking for someone with at least a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or Business Administration, or equivalent knowledge gained from previous assignments with 2–5 years in Freight, Logistics, Supply Chain, or Transportation analytics.

Ensure freight master data quality, governance, and reporting consistency across systems

Root-cause analysis mindset, not just "what happened" but "why, and what do we do about it"

Technical foundation

Strong skills for querying large shipment and transactional datasets

Proficiency in Excel/Power Query at an advanced level (pivot modeling, complex formulas)

Experience with BI/visualization tools, must have Power BI

Curious for future ready skills on predictive modeling, automation or reporting workflows, machining learning and AI (e.g. Project44)

Communication & Business Partnership
