Senior Interaction Designer – ProtoPie & Motion Design

Join a leading digital transformation engagement supporting a major banking organization in the UAE, focused on delivering highly engaging, intuitive, and sophisticated digital banking experiences.

We are looking for an experienced Interaction & Motion Lead to design and prototype advanced interactions, motion behaviours, micro-interactions, and interface animations across digital products and customer-facing experiences.

This role requires strong hands-on expertise in ProtoPie , with the ability to transform static UX/UI designs into high-fidelity, interactive prototypes that accurately demonstrate how digital interfaces should behave, respond, transition, and animate.

The selected consultant will work closely with Product Designers, UX/UI Designers, Design System teams, Product Managers, and Engineering teams to define interaction patterns and motion behaviours across interface components, user journeys, and digital product experiences.

This opportunity is ideal for a Senior Product Designer, Interaction Designer, or Motion/Interaction Designer with strong experience in ProtoPie, Figma, high-fidelity prototyping, interaction design, and motion design within mobile or web-based digital products.

This is an initial 2-month contract / freelance engagement, extendable up to 6 months.

Key Responsibilities

Interaction & Motion Design

• Design sophisticated interactions, transitions, animations, and motion behaviours across digital interfaces
• Define how interface components respond to user actions, gestures, navigation, and different product states
• Create intuitive and engaging micro-interactions across buttons, cards, menus, forms, navigation elements, notifications, loaders, and other UI components
• Apply motion and interaction design principles to improve usability, feedback, hierarchy, and overall customer experience
• Establish consistent interaction behaviours across digital products and user journeys

ProtoPie & High-Fidelity Prototyping

• Develop advanced, high-fidelity interactive prototypes using ProtoPie
• Transform Figma designs and static concepts into realistic prototypes demonstrating intended product behaviour
• Prototype complex user interactions including gestures, conditional behaviours, component states, transitions, animations, and dynamic experiences
• Build prototypes that closely replicate final product experiences for stakeholder reviews, usability testing, and development handover
• Rapidly iterate prototypes based on user, stakeholder, and product team feedback

UI Animation & Micro-Interactions

• Create purposeful interface animations that enhance usability and customer experience
• Design transitions between screens, states, components, and navigation flows
• Define motion behaviours for loading, success, error, confirmation, and feedback states
• Ensure animations and micro-interactions are consistent with the overall product experience and design system
• Balance visual sophistication with usability, performance, and accessibility considerations

Design Systems & Interface Components

• Collaborate with Design System teams to establish reusable interaction and motion patterns
• Define interaction behaviours and animation principles for reusable UI components
• Ensure consistent application of motion and interaction standards across products and platforms
• Contribute interaction specifications and guidance to digital design systems
• Support scalable implementation of interaction patterns across mobile and web experiences

Product Design & Collaboration

• Work closely with Product Designers and UX/UI Designers to enhance end-to-end digital customer journeys
• Collaborate with Product Managers and business stakeholders to translate product requirements into interactive experiences
• Partner with developers and engineering teams to ensure interaction and motion concepts can be implemented effectively
• Provide clear interaction specifications, prototypes, and design guidance during development
• Participate in design reviews, workshops, product demonstrations, and stakeholder presentations.

Required Experience

• Strong professional experience in Product Design, Interaction Design, UX/UI Design, or Digital Experience Design
• Advanced hands-on experience using ProtoPie for high-fidelity and complex interactive prototyping is essential
• Strong expertise in Interaction Design , including component behaviours, gestures, transitions, navigation patterns, and interface states
• Strong understanding of Motion Design and UI Animation principles for digital products
• Experience designing micro-interactions and motion behaviours across mobile and/or web interfaces
• Strong proficiency in Figma , including components, variants, prototyping, and design systems
• Experience converting static UX/UI concepts into sophisticated, realistic interactive prototypes
• Strong understanding of user-centred design, usability, interaction patterns, and digital product design principles
• Experience working with Design Systems and reusable UI component libraries
• Ability to communicate motion and interaction specifications clearly to developers and engineering teams
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional Product, UX/UI, Engineering, and business teams
• Experience designing digital banking, fintech, financial services, or other complex enterprise products is highly desirable
• Experience with additional motion/prototyping tools such as Rive, Lottie, Adobe After Effects, Principle, or Framer is advantageous
• Strong stakeholder communication, presentation, and design documentation skills
• Immediate or short-notice availability is highly preferred
