Job description

Tasks

  • Carry out the conservation, repair, and restoration of architectural finishes in accordance with approved conservation methodologies and project requirements.
  • Assess the condition of architectural materials and implement appropriate conservation treatments under the guidance of senior conservators.
  • Assist with preventive conservation activities, including documentation, storage, handling, and protection of architectural finishes.
  • Prepare treatment records, condition assessments, photographic documentation, and conservation reports.
  • Coordinate with conservators, architects, engineers, and project teams throughout the delivery of conservation works.
  • Ensure all interventions comply with recognised conservation principles, project specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Handle and protect heritage materials using appropriate conservation techniques and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Conservation, Architectural Conservation, Fine Arts, Archaeology, Heritage Conservation, or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in architectural conservation, restoration, or repair works.
  • Experience on heritage buildings, museums, architecturally significant structures, or specialist conservation projects is highly preferred.
  • Experience conserving and repairing architectural finishes, including timber, glass, ceramics, natural and artificial stone, terrazzo, mosaics, tiles, wallpapers, stucco, and decorative finishes.
  • Working knowledge of conservation principles, material deterioration, repair techniques, condition assessments, and conservation documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
  • Attention to detail with a methodical approach to conservation works and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
