NUS Centre for Additive Manufacturing (AM.NUS) is inviting applications for the position of research fellow for High Precision 3D Printing.
- Lead the research and development of high-precision 3D printing technologies for semiconductor and photonics applications, leveraging advanced additive manufacturing platforms such as two-photon polymerization (2PP), digital light processing (DLP), and other emerging microfabrication techniques.
- Lead the effort in design, development, and modification of the in-house 2PP platform.
- Define and execute the research strategy for advanced additive manufacturing, driving innovations in semiconductor manufacturing, micro-optics, photonic devices, advanced packaging, and functional materials through process development and design optimization.
- Lead multidisciplinary research programmes and establish strategic collaborations with universities, research institutes, semiconductor and photonics industry partners, and government agencies to accelerate technology development and commercialization.
- Supervise and mentor researchers, engineers, and students, fostering technical excellence, innovation, and professional growth within the research team.
- Lead the preparation of competitive research proposals, secure external funding, manage research programmes, and disseminate research outcomes through high-impact publications, patents, and presentations at international conferences.
- Oversee laboratory operations, including advanced equipment management, resource planning, procurement, and compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards, ensuring the efficient execution of research activities.
The NUS Centre for Additive Manufacturing (AM.NUS) leverages the National University of Singapore (NUS)’s world-class faculties, expertise and advanced capabilities in 3D printing technology, to bring innovative products to the field of healthcare that will improve patient outcomes and change lives for the better. AM.NUS explores a whole new dimension in medicine, applying ground-breaking 3D printing technology for personalised patient treatments.
AM.NUS is the only multi-disciplinary Additive Manufacturing (AM) centre in an Institute of Higher Learning in Singapore which comprises four Faculties (Medicine, Science, Design & Engineering and Dentistry). The Centre is supported both internally by NUS and externally by National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC).
Qualifications
- PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Photonics, Microelectronics, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of relevant R&D experience in high-precision 3D printing, semiconductor manufacturing, photonics, or advanced microfabrication.
- Strong expertise in high-resolution additive manufacturing technologies, such as two-photon polymerization (2PP) and digital light processing (DLP).
- Proven track record in leading research projects, securing research funding, and publishing in high-impact journals.
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with academic and industry partners.
- Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
