Job description

Gulf Associates is looking for a Junior Data Operations Analyst to assist our advisory team as we support a leading Rotterdam-based logistics firm. Our work focuses on complex investment decisions where standard models often fall short. In this role, you will help bridge the gap between raw data and the commercial judgment our clients rely on. This is a full-time, fully remote position designed for someone early in their career who wants to see how high-stakes partnerships are actually formed and evaluated.

What you will do

  • Clean and organize datasets related to counterparty behavior and market entry for our current logistics project.
  • Verify specific data points against external sources to make sure our advice is based on ground reality.
  • Maintain internal databases that track logistics trends and partnership histories for the client.
  • Support senior advisors by preparing clear summaries of operational data for review.
  • Identify gaps in available information and suggest ways to fill them through targeted research.
  • Cross-reference state-level capital movements with private deal structures to highlight potential risks.
  • Collaborate with the research team to maintain data consistency across all client documents.
  • Assist in mapping out the connections between different commercial entities in the market.

What you bring

  • A university degree or ongoing studies in a quantitative, business, or research-related field.
  • Strong skills in spreadsheet software and basic tools for organizing information.
  • A disciplined approach to checking your own work for errors and inconsistencies.
  • Genuine curiosity about how companies interact and how deals are settled in complex markets.
  • The ability to write clearly and explain what a specific set of numbers means for a business decision.
  • Self-management skills needed to work effectively in a fully remote environment.
  • A focus on logic and evidence rather than theoretical assumptions or generic models.
  • Willingness to learn new methods for analyzing counterparty risk and commercial intent.

What we offer

  • The flexibility of a permanent, fully remote working arrangement that respects your time.
  • Direct exposure to senior partners and the decision-making processes of large sovereign and family entities.
  • A professional environment that values honest feedback and practical commercial results over long reports.
  • Competitive pay that is attractive for this entry-level role and reflects the high-stakes nature of our work.

Working at Gulf Associates We prioritize ground reality over theoretical reports. Our firm keeps a small book of active engagements to ensure that senior partners remain involved in every step of the work, including the actual negotiations where outcomes are settled. We do not produce generic advice for a distant head office. Instead, we provide evidence and positions that a client can act on immediately. The culture is direct and focused on the outcomes that follow our advice, whether that is a signed joint venture or a successful capital deployment. We expect our team to be rigorous, honest about what the data shows, and aware of the specific logic that governs the environments where we operate. We value people who can look at a dataset and see the commercial reality behind the numbers.
