JOB OVERVIEW 

Yoga Nidra/ Meditation/ Qigong/ Tai Chi instructor is a wellness professional responsible for designing and leading classes or individual sessions that guide guests through movement, breathing, and meditation practices to improve their physical health, mental clarity, and overall well-being. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Lead safe, engaging classes tailored to various skill levels, providing clear instructions, demonstrations, and modifications for poses or movements. 

Ensure a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment, applying knowledge of anatomy and proper alignment principles to prevent injuries and address individual limitations or health conditions. 

Plan and execute class sequences and programs that incorporate warm-ups, main practices (poses, movements, breathing, meditation), and cool-downs/relaxation stages. 

Build positive relationships with clients, providing individualized attention, feedback, and motivation to support their progress and goals. 

Educate clients on the philosophy and principles of the practices (e.g., the chakra system, Meridian/Vayu energy mapping, mindfulness) to promote a holistic approach to health. 

Manage class logistics, including scheduling, attendance records, and potentially marketing or business development efforts. 

Professional Development: Stay current on industry trends and best practices through ongoing education, workshops, and maintaining personal practice and certifications.

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED 

Relevant professional certification from a recognized organization (e.g., Yoga Alliance for Yoga, NQA for Qigong, or a certified Tai Chi for Health program) is required. 

Previous experience in teaching the specific modalities preferred, with a minimum two years of experience. 

Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and the principles of the specific practices. 

Proficiency with virtual teaching platforms and technical setup for online classes is increasingly valuable. 

CPR and First Aid certification it’s a plus.

Ability to motivate and inspire participants of diverse backgrounds and ages. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT 

Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas 

Ability to move safely in uneven terrain or in confined spaces 

Remain active, constantly moving, or prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer throughout work shift 

Physical fitness and the ability to perform and demonstrate movements proficiently.
