Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems, circuits, equipment, control systems, and installations.
  • Prepare electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, layouts, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
  • Perform electrical load calculations, power-system studies, equipment sizing, and technical assessments.
  • Select cables, transformers, switchgear, generators, motors, protection devices, control equipment, and electrical components.
  • Review electrical designs to ensure safety, reliability, functionality, efficiency, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Conduct electrical inspections, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance verification.
  • Diagnose electrical faults, equipment failures, power-quality issues, control-system problems, and system-performance concerns.
  • Develop preventive and corrective maintenance strategies for electrical equipment and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, civil, structural, instrumentation, automation, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Review technical drawings, equipment specifications, vendor documentation, material submissions, and engineering reports.
  • Support electrical installation, commissioning, upgrades, modifications, expansions, and refurbishment projects.
  • Monitor technical deliverables, project schedules, quality requirements, and engineering documentation.
  • Ensure electrical installations comply with relevant safety standards, technical codes, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct electrical safety assessments, risk evaluations, inspections, and technical audits.
  • Support energy-efficiency initiatives, renewable-energy integration, power optimization, and sustainability projects.
  • Monitor electrical performance, energy consumption, equipment condition, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Utilize CAD, BIM, electrical-design software, simulation tools, automation systems, data analytics, and digital engineering technologies.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, test results, inspection reports, project updates, and engineering recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate engineering drawings, specifications, maintenance records, testing documentation, and change-control records.
  • Investigate electrical incidents, failures, defects, and non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
  • Support procurement activities by evaluating technical requirements, supplier proposals, equipment specifications, and quotations.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, site inspections, commissioning activities, and project coordination sessions.
  • Provide technical guidance to technicians, contractors, maintenance teams, and other engineering personnel.
  • Identify opportunities to improve electrical system reliability, safety, efficiency, maintainability, and cost effectiveness.
  • Stay informed about emerging electrical technologies, automation, renewable energy, energy storage, smart-grid systems, and digital engineering.
  • Continuously improve electrical engineering processes, technical standards, system performance, safety, reliability, and project outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, power systems, electrical machines, control systems, protection systems, and electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, transformers, switchgear, generators, motors, cables, protection devices, and electrical installations.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, single-line diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, calculation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety standards, engineering codes, regulations, and industry practices.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, ETAP, MATLAB, Revit, PLC systems, electrical simulation tools, or similar engineering software.
  • Understanding of industrial automation, instrumentation, control systems, renewable energy, energy management, and smart electrical technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of testing, commissioning, preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and electrical inspection procedures.
  • Familiarity with BIM, IoT monitoring, data analytics, and AI-assisted engineering tools is advantageous.
  • Strong project coordination, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, contractors, suppliers, consultants, project managers, and clients.
  • Relevant professional engineering registration or certifications are advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail, technical judgment, safety awareness, and quality orientation.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • High level of professionalism, accountability, adaptability, and commitment to electrical safety, reliability, and engineering excellence.
