Job description

Responsibilities for Medical Radiographer:

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with established SOPs and clinical standards.
  • Verify patient identity, ensure accurate examination procedures, and comply with radiation safety protocols and consent requirements.
  • Ensure imaging quality is optimal, accurately labelled, and completed according to the requested examination before submission for reporting or patient release.
  • Verify examination details and ensure correct coding is entered into the system.
  • Explain imaging procedures, preparation requirements, and expected duration to patients to ensure understanding and comfort.
  • Provide safe and compassionate patient care by attending to patients’ physical and emotional needs throughout the examination process.
  • Implement radiation protection measures to minimise unnecessary exposure to patients, staff, and the public.
  • Perform on-call and after-hours duties as required, ensuring timely response according to hospital standards.
  • Conduct daily quality assurance (QA) checks on imaging equipment to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications for Medical Radiographer:

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Radiography) or Diploma in Radiography from a recognised institution.
  • Membership with relevant professional bodies, locally or internationally.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience as a Radiographer in a diagnostic imaging facility.
  • Able to participate in on-call duties and after-hours support when required.
  • Experience in specialised imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound, or Mammography is preferred.
  • Candidates with prior experience managing modality sections will be considered for senior positions.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and public relations skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good command of written and spoken English, with proficiency in a second language preferred.
  • Familiarity with PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) is required.
