Product Strategy

In short

As the Head of Global Pricing, you will own the end-to-end pricing strategy, architecture, and governance framework globally. You will spearhead a centralized, luxury-inspired pricing model designed to protect global brand equity, maximize long-term gross margins, and eliminate cross-border price arbitrage.

You will manage a dedicated 5 FTE team split across three central pillars: Strategic Category Pricing, Regional Pricing, and Commercial Pricing Operations & Data Analytics. This is a high-visibility leadership role sitting at the intersection of Product Strategy, Finance, and Regional Merchandising.

Your Mission

Strategic Leadership & Price Architecture

  • Lead the definition and evolution of global pricing tiers, price ladders, and architecture across all product franchises (Footwear, Apparel, and Accessories).
  • Overhaul and enforce the pricing brief process to smoothly translate upstream product value strategies into downstream regional directives
  • Continue the transition to value based pricing and continue the roll-out to all our product categories, expanding the importance of data into our pricing decision making
  • Own the global margin and portfolio mix optimization strategy to hit macro-financial targets without compromising brand positioning.
  • Chair and set the agenda for the Global Pricing Board, communicating key strategic pricing direction to executive leadership.

Governance, Compliance & Guardrails

  • Enforce Authorized Regional Corridors: Act as the ultimate global gatekeeper for localized pricing variations, defining strict "authorized corridors" within which regional teams can operate to prevent cross-border gray-market arbitrage.
  • Corporate Compliance & Data Integrity: Ensure absolute corporate compliance by overseeing global SOX controls, corporate pricing governance frameworks, and system-wide master data integrity.
  • Markdown & Promotion Gatekeeping: Establish and enforce the global approval matrix for promotional deviations, serving as the final authority on regional markdown windows and off-cycle promotional exceptions to defend premium brand margin targets.

Team Leadership & Operational Excellence

  • Own all pricing communications, ensuring consistency across our GTM touchpoints & LRP financial models
  • Manage, coach, and scale a highly specialized global pricing organization, ensuring clear role accountability across category specialists, data scientists, and regional leads.
  • Oversee the development of advanced econometric, elasticity, and demand modeling tools, alongside progressive consumer research methodologies (e.g., Conjoint, Van Westendorp).
  • Bridge the gap between Zürich HQ and local markets, structuring regional data gathering to continuously feed local commercial insights back into global product strategy.
  • Manage the implementation of a new pricing platform (QuickLizard), ensuring effective roll-out and tool implementation/optimization.

Your story

Industry & Domain Expertise

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in Global Pricing, Revenue Management, Strategic Merchandising, or Management Consulting with a focus on commercial excellence.
  • Sector Background: Strong background working within premium sportswear, fashion, or luxury consumer goods industries.
  • Governance & Guardrails: Direct experience designing and enforcing global pricing governance, including international price corridors, gray-market mitigation, and strict promotional/markdown frameworks.

Leadership & Team

  • Organizational Scaling: Demonstrated track record of building, restructuring, or scaling a centralized corporate pricing function.
  • Executive Presence: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with a demonstrated ability to chair executive boards, align global VPs, and bridge corporate HQ with regional market leads.

Analytical, Technical & Educational Foundations

  • Advanced Analytics: Hands-on experience overseeing or developing advanced econometric models, price elasticity frameworks, demand modeling, and advanced consumer research methodologies (e.g., Conjoint, Van Westendorp).
  • Systems & Infrastructure: Experience driving digital transformation within a pricing function, specifically managing the implementation, roll-out, and optimization of enterprise pricing platforms.
  • Data Integrity & Compliance: Strong foundational understanding of corporate compliance standards, including SOX controls and system-wide master data integrity.
  • Education: An advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a highly quantitative/analytical field is strongly preferred.

Strategic & Commercial Acumen

  • Luxury / Premium Brand Guardship: Deep understanding of value-based pricing, premium product tiering, and the mechanics of protecting brand equity through tight global distribution and price floors.
  • Portfolio Complexity Management: Proven experience driving pricing across diverse, multi-category portfolios (Footwear vs. Apparel vs. Accessories) with varying product lifecycles & portfolio characteristics (Technical value driver pricing for performance vs brand heat and fashion cycle pricing for lifestyle.

Analytical & Governance Mastery

  • Rigorous Governance Mindset: Unwavering commitment to process integrity, audit standards (SOX), and centralized control systems.
  • Data-Driven Decisiveness: Ability to easily navigate complex statistical pricing dashboards, price elasticity models, and quantitative consumer research data to make multi-million-dollar pricing adjustments.

Leadership & Stakeholder Influence

  • The "Diplomatic Gatekeeper": Exceptional stakeholder management skills. You must be comfortable saying "no" to powerful regional commercial directors, backed by data and an unshakeable focus on global strategy.
