About the role

We are looking for a Machine Diagnostics Engineer (100%) to join our team within the Flow division in Switzerland to help us take Sulzer to the next level.

In this role, you will be responsible for machine diagnostics activities related to pump technology. Join our team if you want to contribute to technology development and support in the field of experimental dynamics, vibration and modal analysis, acoustics, and related data analysis techniques.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

Project management and project work on Machine Diagnostics projects

Development of machinery diagnostic and pump condition monitoring solutions

Analysis of pump and system operation data

Vibration, acoustic and other dynamic measurements in the testbed, measurement data analysis and interpretation

Support test bed activities with experimental dynamics, sensor and data acquisition activities

Field vibration surveys and analysis on pumps

Travel to test facilities, customer sites or other locations can occasionally be required

To succeed in this role, you will need:

Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

Ideally, 3-4 years of experience in machine dynamics, vibration and experimental modal analysis, acoustics, machinery diagnostics and condition monitoring, and data analysis techniques

Hands-on experience in data acquisition systems, instrumentation and conducting experimental test campaigns

Solid understanding of rotating equipment; experience with pump technology is a plus

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Proficiency in tools such as Excel, MATLAB, and LabView

Team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills

Fluent in English, German is a plus
