Position: Dewatering Works Draftsman

Job Summary
The Dewatering Works Draftsman is responsible for preparing, developing, and maintaining technical drawings related to temporary and permanent dewatering systems for construction projects. The role involves converting engineering designs, site requirements, and survey information into accurate and detailed drawings for execution, coordination, approval, and as-built documentation.
Key Responsibilities – Dewatering Works Draftsman
- Prepare detailed dewatering system drawings including deep well, wellpoint, sump pumping, and drainage arrangements.
- Prepare dewatering layout plans, sections, profiles, details, and installation drawings based on engineering requirements.
- Develop drawings showing well locations, well depths, well spacing, pumps, header pipes, discharge lines, manifolds, and related equipment.
- Prepare shop drawings, coordination drawings, IFC drawings, and as-built drawings for dewatering works.
- Review engineering drawings, calculations, specifications, and site information and convert them into accurate CAD drawings.
- Coordinate dewatering layouts with excavation, shoring, piling, structural, civil, MEP, and underground utility drawings.
- Incorporate survey coordinates, levels, existing utilities, site boundaries, and actual site conditions into drawings.
- Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and ensure drawings reflect actual installation requirements.
- Revise drawings according to engineer, consultant, client, and site team comments.
- Prepare and maintain drawing registers, revision records, and document-control information.
- Prepare as-built drawings based on site survey information and actual installed dewatering systems.
- Coordinate with Dewatering Engineers, Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Surveyors, and Supervisors to resolve drawing and technical issues.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, approved design, company CAD standards, and relevant requirements.
- Identify discrepancies between design drawings and site conditions and report them to the responsible engineer.
- Maintain an organized library of CAD files, standard details, templates, blocks, and project drawings.
- Support the engineering team with drawing-based quantity take-offs, material layouts, and technical documentation when required.
- Ensure timely submission of drawings according to the project schedule and submission requirements.
- Perform other drafting and technical duties related to dewatering and temporary works as assigned by the Project Manager or Dewatering Engineer.
- Coordinate with the Design Lead to prepare discharge route layouts and ensure drawings are complete and ready for Authority NOC submission.
- Conduct site visits to understand the existing dewatering system, site conditions, and proposed discharge routes, and incorporate the findings into the drawings.
- Support the Authority NOC submission process, coordinate required documentation and drawings, and develop an understanding of the procedures and requirements for obtaining the necessary NOCs.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities, consultants, and internal engineering teams to address comments and requirements related to discharge routes and dewatering works.
- Revise and update drawings based on site conditions, authority comments, and design requirements until approval requirements are satisfied.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, Architecture, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years of drafting experience in construction, civil works, excavation, shoring, groundwater control, or dewatering projects.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD is required.
- Knowledge of Civil 3D, Revit, or other relevant drafting/design software is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret civil, structural, survey, and engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of construction drawings, levels, coordinates, dimensions, sections, and details.

Working Conditions
The position may require a combination of office-based drafting and periodic site visits. The candidate should be comfortable working in a construction environment and coordinating with site personnel, engineers, surveyors, and Main-contractors.
Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Dubai (Dubai)
