Mechanical Commissioning Engineer – Data Centre

Germany | Permanent | Up to €100,000

A major international engineering contractor is looking for an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join a large-scale data centre project in Germany.

This is a hands-on commissioning role for an engineer who wants to be on site, close to the systems and involved in taking complex mechanical infrastructure from installation through testing, commissioning and handover.

With a strong pipeline of projects secured for the next 5+ years , this is a genuine long-term opportunity within a growing European data centre operation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver mechanical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
  • Review IFC drawings, specifications and technical submittals
  • Support commissioning plans, methodologies and sequencing
  • Coordinate with package engineers, planners, vendors and site teams
  • Prepare and review commissioning checklists, scripts and test packs
  • Witness functional testing and verify system performance
  • Support walkdowns, tag walks and system inspections
  • Track commissioning progress, snags and close-out
  • Support system handover, O&M documentation and client training
  • Identify issues early and escalate commissioning risks

What We're Looking For

  • Mechanical commissioning experience within complex construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water, LTHW, ventilation and pressurisation systems
  • Understanding of commissioning processes, sequencing and system interfaces
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, site-based environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple disciplines
  • A practical, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail

Data centre experience is a major advantage , but strong mechanical commissioning experience from other mission-critical or technically complex environments will be considered.
