Job description

Location: Flexible within Europe

Summary: The Commercial Sales Manager is responsible for driving new customer acquisition by identifying, developing, and securing long-term commercial partnerships within the assigned market. The role focuses on expanding the customer base through strategic sales initiatives and cross selling the company's full portfolio of services.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify, pursue, and acquire new customers with a primary focus on securing long-term commercial contracts.
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy for the assigned market that supports new business growth.
  • Proactively identify new business opportunities and expand the company's customer portfolio.
  • Promote and cross-sell the company's full range of services to both new and existing customers.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with prospective and existing customers.
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations and conclude agreements in compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to identify new sales opportunities and recommend strategic initiatives.
  • Manage the sales pipeline using CRM and sales analytics, ensuring accurate forecasting and effective opportunity management.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial, Operations, ULD Management, and other cross-functional teams to develop customer solutions that support acquisition and growth objectives.
  • Conduct customer business reviews and identify opportunities to expand relationships through additional services and long-term partnerships.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows to generate leads, strengthen market presence, and promote the company's brand.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of commercial processes, sales tools, and best practices.
  • Coach and support colleagues by sharing market knowledge, commercial insights, and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification, ideally in business administration, sales, marketing or logistics.
  • Min. 5 years of international commercial sales/business development experience in logistics, transport, or forwarding industry. Proven track record of closing large deals.
  • Customer centricity, relationship management skills, as well as passion and ability to manage strategic key accounts.
  • Commercial and sales acumen, contract management and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic, innovative, and analytical thinking skills.
  • Leadership skills, teamwork and cross-functional collaboration, and communication.
  • Adaptability and result-orientation.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) and proficient use of CRM tools.
  • Fluent written and spoken English; other languages ​​are an advantage.

Other Requirements: Willingness and ability to travel frequently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From €60.000,00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in 1525 West-Knollendam (1525)
