Job Overview

• Reports To: Assistant Manager, Ladle & Refractory

Role Summary The Refractory Supervisor oversees operations to ensure high-quality workmanship, optimal equipment life, and strict safety standards. This role manages materials, manpower, and inspections across Ladle, Tundish, EAF, and IF areas. Key Responsibilities

• Operations: Manage general shift operations, hot/cold repairs, and timely execution of shutdown activities.
• Inspections & Maintenance: Inspect Ladle bricks, porous plugs, and Drop Out Boxes (DOB) after castings; track asset lifecycles.
• Resource Management: Plan shift manpower, arrange onsite tools, and request materials via SAP MM.
• Quality & Safety: Conduct incoming quality inspections, run material trials, and enforce strict workplace safety and housekeeping.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate log sheets and compile weekly, monthly, and failure analysis reports.

Requirements & Competencies

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Engineering, preferably Ceramic or Metallurgical.
• Experience: 5 to 10 years of refractory experience specifically within the steel industry.
• Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of steel plant refractory, ability to judge hot/cold refractory conditions, and proficiency in SAP MM.
• Soft Skills: Strong supervisory, analytical, and situational decision-making abilities.
