Commissioning Engineer

Commissioning Engineer – Netherlands

We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join a major data center project in the Netherlands.

The Role

• Location: Netherlands
• Duration: 12 months
• Contract Type: Contract / Freelance
• Rate: Competitive daily rate in euros
• Start Date: Immediate / To be confirmed

Responsibilities

• Support and execute commissioning activities from pre-commissioning through to final handover.
• Carry out testing and commissioning of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Work closely with the Commissioning Manager, project teams, contractors, suppliers and client representatives.
• Review commissioning procedures, test scripts, method statements and technical documentation.
• Coordinate and witness equipment and system testing.
• Support Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and functional performance testing.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during commissioning.
• Track defects, issues and outstanding works through to close-out.
• Ensure all commissioning activities are completed safely and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards and HSE requirements.
• Maintain accurate commissioning records, test results and project documentation.
• Support the final handover and close-out of commissioning activities.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer within data centers, critical infrastructure or a similar environment.
• Strong electrical and/or mechanical engineering background.
• Experience with MEP systems and critical infrastructure.
• Experience with systems such as LV/MV electrical distribution, UPS, generators, cooling systems, BMS and EPMS.
• Experience working with commissioning procedures, testing and integrated systems testing.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multiple contractors and project stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• English language skills are essential; Dutch would be an advantage.
• Willingness to work on-site in the Netherlands.
