Job description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Consultant in Pain Management to join a leading healthcare provider in Al Ain, UAE . The successful candidate will provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic pain conditions using evidence-based medical, interventional, and multidisciplinary approaches to improve patients' quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute and chronic pain conditions.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans using pharmacological, interventional, and non-pharmacological pain management techniques.
  • Perform pain management procedures such as nerve blocks, epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation, joint injections, and other image-guided interventions where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Oncology, Rehabilitation Medicine, and Physiotherapy, to provide comprehensive patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on pain management strategies, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to achieve optimal pain control and functional improvement.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and continuing medical education (CME) activities.
  • Supervise and mentor junior physicians and allied healthcare professionals, where applicable.

Qualifications

  • MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of an accredited Residency in Anesthesiology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), Neurology, or a related specialty.
  • Fellowship or Subspecialty Certification in Pain Management/Pain Medicine from a recognized institution.
  • Board Certification in the relevant specialty and Pain Management.

Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of post-board experience as a Consultant in Pain Management.
  • Experience in managing a broad range of acute and chronic pain disorders.
  • Expertise in interventional pain management procedures is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience in a tertiary care hospital is an advantage.

Skills & License

  • Valid DOH License/Eligibility is preferred. Candidates with DHA or MOH eligibility who are willing to obtain DOH licensure are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong expertise in diagnosing and treating acute and chronic pain conditions.
  • Proficiency in interventional pain management procedures and image-guided techniques.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, procedural, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication, patient counseling, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice, patient safety, and continuous professional development.
