Aldar Academies are currently seeking an outstanding Swimming Instructor for Al Ain British Academy , commencing August 2026 .

Minimum Qualifications:
- UAE approved Swimming Coach Certificate
- First Aid Certificate and CPR knowledge
Minimum Experience:
- To be a competent instructor, able to support the needs of all learners.
- To be qualified to teach swimming.
- To be a qualified lifeguard.
Job Specific Knowledge & Skills:
- Expertise in teaching swimming techniques and water safety to students of all ages and abilities.
- Knowledge of pool operations, risk management, and emergency procedures (NOP and EOP).
- Ability to plan, deliver, and assess structured lessons, competitions, and extra-curricular swimming programs. Skills in supervising, mentoring, and coordinating assistants while collaborating effectively with school staff and parents.

Main Duties:
- Teach swimming lessons to all classes across the school, ensuring skill development and water safety.
- Supervise and manage the work of the swimming assistant to support effective lesson delivery.
- Maintain constant supervision of children in and around the pool to ensure their safety at all times.
- Plan and deliver engaging, structured swimming lessons tailored to different ages and abilities.
- Organize and participate in swimming galas, competitions, and other sports-related events.
- Liaise with class teachers and classroom assistants regarding the care and supervision of children before, during, and after lessons.
- Lead and run extra-curricular swimming programs for students.
- Ensure that a staff member is always present monitoring children in the water while lessons are in progress.
Specific Duties:
- Plan and deliver training programs tailored to different ages and skill levels, focusing on technique, fitness, and water safety.
- Coach and mentor students in swimming techniques, competition preparation, and goal-setting, promoting discipline and sportsmanship.
- Monitor and assess progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and school management.
- Ensure safety and wellbeing by enforcing pool rules, supervising activities, and responding to emergencies.
- Organize competitions and events, managing logistics, equipment, and team participation.
Wider Professional responsibilities:
- Maintain clear and professional communication with students, classroom assistants, and teaching staff regarding lesson plans, progress, and safety.
- Coordinate with teachers and school staff to schedule lessons, extra-curricular activities, and events.
- Provide regular updates and feedback to colleagues about student performance and poolside supervision.
- Liaise with parents and guardians regarding student progress, achievements, and any safety concerns.
- Communicate with external organizations, such as competition organizers, swimming federations, and health/safety authorities.
- Promote the school’s swimming programs, galas, and health initiatives to the wider community.
