Customs Declarant/Specialist (Full-Time)

Gimas Ship Supply & Services B.V. is a trusted ship supplier with over 30 years of experience. We deliver high-quality products and services to ships around the world. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Customs Declarant/Specialist to join our team.

What You'll Do

• Preparing and submitting customs declarations for import, export, and transit shipments;
• Ensuring compliance with Dutch and EU customs regulations and procedures;
• Coordinating with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and internal departments to ensure smooth clearance of goods;
• Managing documentation such as bonded warehouse records, T1/T2 documents, and certificates of origin;
• Monitoring shipments to prevent delays and resolving any customs-related issues that arise;
• Keeping up to date with changes in customs legislation and advising colleagues accordingly.

What You Bring

• Proven experience as a Customs Declarant or in a similar customs/compliance role;
• In-depth knowledge of customs regulations and procedures (Dutch/EU customs law);
• Experience with customs software systems is an advantage;
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail;
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Dutch;
• HBO-level qualification, preferably in Customs & Logistics or a related field;
• A precise, responsible, and proactive attitude, able to work under deadline pressure.
