Lead Engineer – Marine Electrical Engineering

Marine electrical engineering · Rotterdam region · up to €6,200 gross p/m

Would you like to combine your technical expertise as a Lead Engineer with managing engineers in the Netherlands and abroad? At an internationally operating specialist in marine electrical engineering, you will work on challenging installation projects for clients worldwide. You will be responsible for the design of electrical installations for vessels and act as the technical link between the Project Manager and the engineering team. You will have the opportunity to remain actively involved in engineering while also providing direction and leadership to the team.

Your responsibilities

As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering of marine electrical installations and will manage engineers within international project teams.

  • Designing and developing electrical installations for vessels in accordance with client specifications and applicable standards;
  • Managing engineers in the Netherlands and abroad, and allocating and monitoring engineering activities;
  • Preparing, coordinating and delivering the complete drawing package according to schedule;
  • Preparing material specifications and the required technical project documentation;
  • Supporting the Project Manager, reporting on progress and acting as the technical link between project management and execution.

Your profile

  • A completed Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or demonstrable relevant experience as a Lead Engineer;
  • Preferably at least 5 years of experience as a Lead Engineer within the marine sector;
  • Experience in designing electrical installations for vessels;
  • Experience with AutoCAD and SEE Electrical or EPLAN, or a willingness to learn this software;
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and classification rules, such as Bureau Veritas, Lloyd’s and CCS;
  • Preferred: you combine strong technical expertise with a commercial, customer-focused mindset and experience managing international engineers.

You are available for at least 32 hours per week and have strong communication skills, an analytical mindset and a high level of accuracy. You also take initiative, make decisions confidently and know how to solve technical challenges in a focused and effective manner.

Offer

  • A salary up to €6,200 gross per month based on full-time employment, depending on your experience;
  • 25 vacation days and 13 additional leave (ADV) days based on full-time employment;
  • Flexible working hours and the option to work hybrid, including a work-from-home allowance of €2.35 per day;
  • Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometre, pension through PMT
  • Secondary employment conditions in accordance with the CLA (CAO) Metaal en Techniek;
