Job description

Revenue Analyst – Five-Star Hotel

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyze daily occupancy, ADR (Average Daily Rate), RevPAR, room revenue, and pickup.

  • Monitor hotel bookings, cancellations, no-shows, and booking pace.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly revenue and forecasting reports.

  • Assist the Revenue Manager in developing pricing and inventory strategies.

  • Analyze historical and current data to forecast future demand and occupancy.

  • Monitor competitors’ room rates, promotions, packages, and market positioning.

  • Recommend appropriate room rates based on demand, seasonality, events, and market conditions.

  • Manage and analyze room inventory across different room types and rate categories.

  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue through upselling, packages, promotions, and restrictions.

  • Monitor OTA performance, including channels such as Booking.com and Expedia, as well as direct bookings.

  • Evaluate the performance of different market segments, such as corporate, leisure, group, wholesale, and government.

  • Support decisions regarding minimum length of stay (MLOS), closed-to-arrival (CTA), and other revenue controls.

  • Work closely with Sales, Reservations, Front Office, Finance, and Marketing teams.

  • Prepare presentations and reports for management meetings.

  • Maintain accurate data in the hotel’s PMS, RMS, CRS, and reporting systems.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Hotel Management, Hospitality, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

  • A qualification in Revenue Management or Hospitality Analytics is an advantage.

Experience

  • Typically 1–3 years of experience in hotel revenue management, reservations, finance, or hotel operations.

  • Experience in a 4- or 5-star hotel is preferred.

  • Fresh graduates may be considered for junior/entry-level Revenue Analyst positions if they have strong analytical and Excel skills.

Technical Skills

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including:

  • Pivot Tables

  • XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP

  • SUMIFS/COUNTIFS

  • Charts and dashboards

  • Basic data analysis

  • Knowledge of hotel PMS, RMS, CRS, and channel-management systems.

  • Familiarity with Opera PMS, IDeaS, Duetto, or similar systems is an advantage.

  • Understanding of STR reports and competitive-set analysis.

Revenue Management Knowledge

  • Understanding of Occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, TRevPAR, and GOPPAR.

  • Knowledge of forecasting and demand analysis.

  • Understanding of room pricing and inventory management.

  • Knowledge of market segmentation and booking channels.

  • Ability to analyze pickup, booking pace, cancellations, and no-shows.

  • Understanding of OTA and direct-booking performance.
