The Role

As Associate Director of the Family Division, you will play a central role in managing a caseload of family law matters while helping to guide the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the division. You will work closely with the Director and senior partners to develop the practice, mentor junior lawyers, and ensure the highest standards of client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediation, and court proceedings.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and mentorship to associates and junior lawyers within the division.
  • Support the Director in setting the strategic priorities, growth initiatives, and operational standards of the Family Division.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on sensitive and complex family matters.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including client referrals, networking, and the firm's profile in family law.
  • Ensure matters are handled efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with relevant professional and regulatory standards.
  • Review and oversee the quality of legal work product produced within the division.

What We are Looking For

  • 5–8 years of post-qualification experience practicing family law, with a strong track record handling matrimonial and family-related matters.
  • Qualified to practice law in Singapore, in good standing with the relevant bar/law society.
  • Demonstrated experience in client management, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy.
  • Prior experience supervising, mentoring, or managing junior lawyers is highly valued.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Strong organizational and leadership capabilities, with the ability to balance case management with practice development responsibilities.
  • A collaborative, client-centered approach and genuine interest in developing the Family Division's practice.
  • Ability to bring in or generate their own client base is an advantage, though not a mandatory requirement.

What we Offer

  • A leadership role with genuine influence over the direction of the Family Division.
  • A collegial, supportive team environment with opportunities for professional growth.
  • Exposure to a varied and meaningful caseload of family law matters.
  • Competitive compensation package, commensurate with experience.
