Job description

Role Summary A senior neurosurgical specialist responsible for delivering advanced cranial neurosurgery services, leading complex surgical care, and supporting the development of a high‑performing neuroscience program within a major hospital in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert management of cranial neurosurgical conditions, including tumors, trauma, vascular lesions, hydrocephalus, and skull‑base disorders.
  • Perform complex cranial surgeries using advanced microsurgical and minimally invasive techniques.
  • Lead multidisciplinary case discussions and collaborate with neurology, ICU, oncology, radiology, and rehabilitation teams.
  • Oversee pre‑operative evaluation, surgical planning, intraoperative decision‑making, and post‑operative care.
  • Ensure adherence to international clinical quality, safety, and patient‑experience standards.
  • Contribute to service development, clinical governance, morbidity and mortality reviews, and protocol optimization.
  • Participate in teaching, mentoring, and continuous professional development of junior doctors and allied health staff.
  • Support research, audits, and innovation in neurosurgical practice.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Board Certification / CCT / FRCS (Neurosurgery) or equivalent recognized qualification.
  • Minimum 5–7 years post‑specialty training experience, with strong expertise in cranial neurosurgery.
  • Proven track record in complex cranial procedures and management of high‑acuity neurosurgical cases.
  • Experience in a tertiary or academic medical center preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Expertise in neuro-oncology, skull-base surgery, neurovascular surgery, or minimally invasive cranial techniques.
  • Familiarity with advanced neurosurgical technologies (neuronavigation, intraoperative imaging, neuro‑monitoring).
  • Commitment to evidence‑based practice, patient safety, and continuous improvement.
