Role Description The Senior Gemologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai and INDIA (New Delhi), responsible for leading and performing advanced gemological analysis and appraisals. This role includes identifying gemstone origin, grading diamonds, evaluating colored stones, and conducting detailed assessments of studded and antique jewelry. The Senior Gemologist will prepare professional reports, provide instant opinions when required, and ensure that all analyses meet laboratory standards for accuracy and impartiality. Daily tasks involve operating and maintaining specialized equipment, overseeing complex cases, mentoring junior gemologists, and collaborating with internal teams to support client needs. The role also requires direct interaction with clients and local jewelers, explaining findings clearly, maintaining strong professional relationships, and contributing to continuous improvement of lab processes and services.

Qualifications

• Gemology expertise, including advanced gem identification and gemstone origin analysis.
• Jewelry Appraisal and Appraisal skills, with experience evaluating diamond, colored stone, and antique pieces.
• Knowledge of Estate Jewelry, including historical styles, market valuation, and condition assessment.
• Foundational understanding of Watches, with ability to support basic evaluation and authentication.
• Formal training in Gemology (e.g., GIA, SSEF, or equivalent), with strong practical laboratory experience.
• Proficiency in using modern gemological instruments and software for testing and reporting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and commitment to unbiased, independent reporting.
• Ability to work on-site full time in Dubai and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Previous experience in a gemological laboratory, auction house, or high-end jewelry environment is highly beneficial.
