Project Engineer - fit-outs

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and technically competent Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of interior fit-out projects from mobilisation through to completion and handover.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, site teams, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and client representatives to ensure that all works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, programme, quality standards, and safety requirements.

The candidate must be available to join immediately.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager in the overall planning, coordination, and execution of fit-out projects.
• Coordinate day-to-day site activities and ensure works progress in accordance with the approved project programme.
• Review and interpret architectural, civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, and other project drawings.
• Coordinate MEP, architectural, civil, joinery, ceiling, flooring, partition, finishing, and specialist fit-out works.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of works.
• Monitor site progress and provide regular updates to the Project Manager.
• Prepare and review method statements, material submittals, shop drawings, technical submissions, and other project documentation.
• Identify design, coordination, and technical issues and work with the relevant parties to resolve them promptly.
• Ensure construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and applicable standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, quality, and progress.
• Coordinate inspections with consultants and arrange for approvals and inspections as required.
• Assist in the preparation and management of RFIs, technical queries, inspection requests, and material approvals.
• Monitor material requirements and coordinate with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely delivery to site.
• Assist with quantity verification, material take-offs, and assessment of site requirements.
• Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure adequate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment are available.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works are completed according to the project programme.
• Assist with the identification and management of variations and additional works.
• Assist in preparing progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and project updates.
• Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained throughout the project.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, snagging, rectification, and handover activities.
• Ensure compliance with project health, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
• Support the Project Manager in resolving site issues and maintaining project progress.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical and progress updates when required.

Education and Qualifications

• University Degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Additional qualifications or certifications in construction or project management will be an advantage.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in construction and project engineering.
• Proven experience in interior fit-out projects is required.
• Experience coordinating architectural, civil, MEP, finishes, joinery, and specialist fit-out works.
• UAE/GCC construction experience is preferred.
• Experience working with consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients in a project environment.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and construction/project management software.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and project scheduling software such as MS Project or Primavera P6 is an advantage.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Joining Requirement

The selected candidate must be available to start immediately or at the earliest possible date.

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
