Job Purpose Reporting to the Senior Engineer, the individual will ensure the smooth running of Broadcast Equipment to support the Broadcast Operations to bring in live overseas horse racing events via live transmission for our customers to watch and bet on the races that are taking place in different parts of the world in real-time.

What You'll Do

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of technical equipment, including but not limited to sound systems. video cameras, and communication systems.
• Provide technical support at the Broadcast Operations Centre during horse racing daily operations, live/delayed lottery draws, and other events organised by SPPL.
• Provide support in systems testing as and when required.
• Prepare and respond to emergencies or technical failures during daily operations, ensuring minimum disruptions to the operations.
• Assist in the setup and configuration of technical equipment for daily operations where applicable, including events organised by SPPL, ensuring all the systems are operational and meet safety standards.
• Continuously monitor technical systems to identify and address any potential issues or malfunctions, ensure all technical systems and equipment comply with safety standards, and conduct safety inspections and report any safety concerns to the appropriate authorities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, keep a log of equipment performance and issues for reference and reporting, manage and track inventory of technical equipment and spare parts, replenish supplies as needed and ensure equipment is readily available when required.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on the proper use and maintenance of technical equipment.
• Liaise closely with third party vendors, service providers, and operators, ensuring all broadcast systems and services are of professional standards and produce broadcast quality, including maintenance contracts, repairs and equipment upgrades.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate technical support to ensure smooth daily operations with minimal disruptions.
• Support the preparation and tracking of department's annual budget, including but not limited to equipment maintenance and upgrades, and to ensure the section operates within approved budget parameters.
• Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to understand, develop, and execute joint projects/plans to ensure broadcasting optimisation and delivery to achieve strategic KPIs.
• You will perform any other duties as assigned to support Broadcasting Operations.

Who You Are

• Minimum NITEC in Broadcast Production / Electronics or related, with minimum 2 years related experience in AV setup/broadcast studio/‘live’ production/electronics/video/maintenance or related.
• Knowledge and experience in live-streaming pre/post production is an advantage.
• Technical knowledge in broadcast electronics, outdoor filming and television production.
• Able to diagnose and resolve technical issues during live broadcasts promptly.
• Proficient in operating various types of broadcast equipment, such as switchers, serves, video/audio mixers, and character generator systems.
• Proficient in ensuring high-quality video and audio signals, including monitoring and controlling broadcast feeds.
• Proficient in videography and video editing software.
• Knowledge of production technicality and skilled in setting up, installation and maintenance of AV systems.
• Good communication skills with team members, presenters, and other broadcast personnel.
• Good team player with a positive attitude and ability to work well under pressure, especially during live broadcasts.
• Able to work rotating shift hours, including weekends and PH, to provide 24/7 support.
