We’re hiring for an EU Government & Industry Affairs Manager – DACH in Berlin, Germany.

You Will Be Part of Growing Team The Government & Industry Affairs Manager will lead the development and execution of the company’s public policy, government relations and industry engagement strategy across Germany, Austria and the broader DACH region. The role will strengthen the company’s reputation, influence policy outcomes and support business objectives by building trusted relationships with policymakers, industry associations, regulators and key stakeholders.

Your Challenge Key Responsibilities: Government Affairs

  • Develop and execute government affairs strategies aligned with corporate and business priorities.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with federal and regional government officials, ministries, parliamentary committees and regulatory authorities at high level.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the company’s business.
  • Provide strategic policy analysis and advise senior management on political and regulatory risks and opportunities.
  • Represent the company in meetings with policymakers and public institutions.

Industry Affairs

  • Represent the company in key industry associations.
  • Shape industry positions on priority policy topics through coalition building.
  • Lead company participation in working groups, task forces and public consultations.
  • Build partnerships with value chain stakeholders, academia and NGOs where appropriate.

Policy Development

  • Identify emerging policy trends and anticipate their business impact.
  • Develop advocacy positions, policy papers and consultation responses.
  • Coordinate internal alignment across functions to ensure consistent external messaging.
  • Support implementation of advocacy campaigns and stakeholder engagement plans.

Strategic Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop long-term engagement plans for key external stakeholders.
  • Build credibility with decision-makers through evidence-based policy discussions.
  • Organize executive meetings, site visits and high-level stakeholder events.
  • Support senior leadership engagement with policymakers.
  • Ensure consistent advocacy positions across business functions.
  • Support crisis management and issues management when required.

Key Stakeholders And Interactions This position works closely with business leaders, regulatory, legal, communications, commercial and sustainability teams.

Reports to the Director of EMEA – APAC Government and Industry Affairs.

Location: Berlin, Germany

Qualifications To Grow What Matters, You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Law, Economics, International Relations or related field preferred.
  • 7–10 years of experience in Government Affairs, Public Affairs or Public Policy.
  • Strong knowledge of German federal institutions, legislative processes and regulatory environment.
  • Experience working with European institutions is highly desirable.
  • Established network across German ministries, Bundestag, industry associations and relevant stakeholders.
  • Experience in a multinational environment preferred.

Languages

  • Fluency in German is essential
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
  • Additional European languages are an advantage.
