Job description
Summary
The Senior Product Manager – Consumer Products is responsible for the end to end product development, delivery, and continuous enhancement of consumer financial products, including credit cards, loans, instalment plans, balance transfers, top ups, and related value added services.
The role will lead product strategy, market research, proposition development, product launches, portfolio management, and continuous improvement. Working closely with Risk, Technology, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Compliance, and other stakeholders, the role will ensure products are commercially viable, customer focused, digitally enabled, and aligned with Finance House’s strategic and regulatory objectives.
Major Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Develop and execute product strategies and propositions for assigned consumer products, including cards, loans, instalment plans, balance transfers, and related services.
- Own the end to end product lifecycle from market research and business case development through launch, optimization, and product rationalization.
- Develop short, medium, and long term product roadmaps covering product features, digital journeys, underwriting, technology initiatives, and business priorities.
- Conduct customer research, segmentation, competitor analysis, and market reviews to identify new opportunities and enhance existing products.
- Define product propositions, pricing, features, eligibility criteria, and customer value propositions in line with market needs and business objectives.
- Monitor portfolio performance and identify opportunities to improve acquisition, activation, utilization, retention, revenue, profitability, and customer experience.
Product Development & Digital Transformation
- Lead the design and delivery of new products, product enhancements, and digital customer journeys from concept through implementation and post launch optimization.
- Define product requirements, customer journeys, business processes, and functional specifications in collaboration with Technology and Operations.
- Drive digital acquisition, onboarding, credit decisioning, fulfilment, servicing, and other initiatives to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, automate product journeys, improve turnaround times, and enhance digital capabilities.
- Partner with Technology, Data, and Analytics teams to leverage automation, AI, and advanced analytics to improve product performance and customer outcomes.
Commercial & Financial Management
- Establish product level financial objectives and monitor revenue, costs, profitability, portfolio growth, and key performance indicators.
- Develop business cases and financial models for new products, product enhancements, pricing changes, campaigns, and strategic initiatives.
- Recommend pricing, fees, promotions, and product economics that balance customer value, competitiveness, risk, and profitability.
- Monitor product P&L and identify opportunities to improve portfolio contribution and sustainable returns.
Credit, Risk & Governance
- Partner with Credit Risk to define and optimize product eligibility, underwriting, credit policy, risk appetite, and decisioning requirements.
- Monitor portfolio quality, delinquency, approval rates, utilization, attrition, and other relevant risk and performance indicators.
- Ensure products and product changes comply with approved risk appetite, credit policies, regulatory requirements, and internal governance frameworks.
- Work closely with Compliance, Legal, AML, Risk, and other control functions to ensure regulatory and operational requirements are addressed throughout the product lifecycle.
- Establish and lead product governance routines, including product performance reviews, roadmap reviews, and cross functional forums.
- Represent the function in relevant audits, regulatory reviews, governance committees, and discussions with card schemes, processors, vendors, and strategic partners.
Product Marketing & Customer Growth
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Distribution teams to develop product positioning, go to market strategies, campaigns, and customer acquisition initiatives.
- Develop strategies to improve customer acquisition, activation, engagement, utilization, retention, cross sell, and customer lifetime value.
- Use customer insights, behavioural data, and portfolio analytics to identify opportunities for targeted propositions and improved customer experiences.
- Monitor campaign and proposition performance and recommend improvements based on measurable business outcomes.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with Operations, Risk, Technology, Finance, Marketing, Compliance, Legal, AML, Data & Analytics, Collections, Sales, and other stakeholders to deliver customer centric solutions.
- Build strong relationships across the organization and influence stakeholders to achieve product objectives.
- Act as the subject matter expert for assigned products, providing guidance on product strategy, proposition, economics, customer journeys, and portfolio performance.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- Strong expertise in consumer financial product management, particularly credit cards, personal loans, instalment products, and other consumer lending solutions.
- Strong understanding of the complete product lifecycle, including proposition development, acquisition, onboarding, activation, usage, retention, and portfolio management.
- Strong understanding of consumer credit, underwriting, pricing, portfolio risk, and lending economics.
- Good knowledge of card issuing, card processing, payment schemes, digital lending, credit decisioning, and digital onboarding platforms.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to develop business cases, financial models, pricing strategies, and product performance analysis.
- Strong understanding of digital product development, customer experience, data analytics, AI, and automation.
- Strong analytical, project management, problem solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Good understanding of the UAE consumer finance and regulatory environment, including relevant CBUAE requirements and applicable card scheme requirements.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Technology, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
- Professional certification in Product Management, Agile, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience
- 10 to 12 years of progressive experience in product management within banking, consumer finance, fintech, payments, or related financial services.
- Strong experience managing consumer lending and/or card products across the complete product lifecycle.
- Proven track record of developing and launching products, enhancing existing propositions, and delivering measurable improvements in revenue, profitability, customer acquisition, or portfolio performance.
- Demonstrated experience in product strategy, roadmap development, pricing, business case development, and product performance management.
- Experience leading digital transformation initiatives involving digital acquisition, onboarding, credit decisioning, automation, or customer experience enhancement.
- Experience working cross functionally with Risk, Technology, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Compliance, and other control functions.
- Experience working within a regulated financial services environment, preferably within the UAE or GCC.
- Experience with card schemes, processors, lending platforms, digital banking ecosystems, or fintech partnerships will be an advantage.
