We are seeking a Backend Developer to design, build, and scale the backend systems powering our web and mobile platforms. This is a hands-on role where you will shape core architecture decisions from day one, owning services end-to-end from API design through production deployment and monitoring.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Django and Django REST Framework to serve web and mobile clients.
• Own database schema design in PostgreSQL, including data modeling, migrations, and query optimization.
• Implement authentication, authorization, multi-tenant data isolation, and role-based access control across platforms.
• Ingest, process, and store device and sensor data at scale, including telemetry and event streams.
• Build integrations with third-party APIs, webhooks, and external services.
• Design data export and reporting endpoints for downstream consumers such as dashboards and analytics tools.
• Implement background job processing, caching, and asynchronous workflows.
• Design mobile-friendly APIs supporting offline sync, push notifications, and versioned endpoints.
• Write and maintain automated tests and ensure strong test coverage across services.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, containerize services with Docker, and deploy to cloud infrastructure.
• Monitor application performance, debug production issues, and implement logging and alerting.
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and product teams on API contracts, architecture decisions, and technical documentation.
• Ensure security best practices including data validation, rate limiting, secrets management, and OWASP compliance.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in backend development with Python, Django, and Django REST Framework.
• Solid experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and migrations.
• Experience implementing authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth2) for web and mobile clients.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, containerized deployments, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with asynchronous task processing using Celery with Redis or RabbitMQ.
• Strong development practices including automated testing, API documentation
• (OpenAPI/Swagger), Git-based version control, and security fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make independent architecture and design decisions.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication.
• Self-directed with the ability to own and operate services without heavy supervision.
• Experience with real-time features (WebSockets, Django Channels) or cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP (a plus).
• Experience with high-volume data ingestion, time-series data, geospatial queries (PostGIS), or IoT protocols such as MQTT (a plus).
• Experience with Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, monitoring tools, or Linux server administration (a plus).
• Must be able to join immediately and already based in Dubai**.**

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED9,000.00 per month
