Job description

The Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing the hotel's overall financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with internal controls and statutory regulations, and safeguarding the hotel's financial integrity. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role leads the Finance Department and works closely with department heads to support business performance through budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Finance Department, including Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Income Audit, Purchasing, Cost Control, General Cashier, Internal Control, Store Receiving, Credit, and IT.

Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and monthly profit & loss reports.

Ensure compliance with hotel policies, accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.

Monitor hotel revenues, expenses, inventory, payroll, and cash management while maintaining strong internal controls.

Drive financial planning and forecasting, ensuring forecast accuracy within Accor's standards.

Work closely with the General Manager and Heads of Departments to improve financial performance and provide financial guidance.

Liaise with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, insurance companies, suppliers, government authorities, and Accor corporate offices.

Supervise invoice payments, cost management (particularly Food & Beverage costs), and fund management.

Develop and maintain financial reporting systems to support management decision-making.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.

Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA) is an advantage.

Minimum 10 years' experience in finance/accounting, preferably within the hospitality industry.

Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, payroll, and internal controls.

Experience in leading and developing finance teams.

Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel financial/accounting systems.

Knowledge of Accor finance standards and procedures is an advantage.
