Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary design teams across architecture, engineering, BIM, and specialist disciplines.
  • Coordinate design activities from concept and schematic design through detailed design, IFC, construction, and handover.
  • Establish and implement BIM standards, protocols, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and project information requirements.
  • Lead BIM coordination activities, including model coordination, clash detection, design reviews, and design issue resolution.
  • Review and coordinate architectural, engineering, and BIM deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements, standards, and specifications.
  • Manage design interfaces between different disciplines and ensure timely resolution of technical and coordination issues.
  • Monitor design progress, deliverables, resources, and key milestones against the approved project schedule.
  • Coordinate with the PMO, project management teams, consultants, contractors, and client representatives.
  • Review technical drawings, models, specifications, design reports, and other project deliverables.
  • Ensure effective document control and management of design information and BIM models.
  • Identify design risks, constructability issues, and potential impacts on cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Support design change management, technical reviews, value engineering, and optimization initiatives.
  • Prepare design progress reports, dashboards, presentations, and management updates for PMO leadership.
  • Promote the effective use of BIM and digital technologies to improve design coordination, project delivery, and information management.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to design and BIM teams.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in design, BIM, design management, or a related technical role.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary design teams within large-scale engineering, construction, infrastructure, or building projects.
  • In-depth experience with BIM software and 3D modelling, particularly Revit and AutoCAD.
  • Expert knowledge of BIM standards, protocols, BIM Execution Plans, and information management requirements.
  • Strong experience leading BIM processes, including clash detection, model coordination, design coordination, and document control.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM collaboration/project management platforms.
  • Strong understanding of architectural and engineering design principles and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and models.
  • Good understanding of the complete project lifecycle, from concept design through construction and handover, and the application of BIM throughout the lifecycle.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary coordination and design interface management.
  • Strong knowledge of design quality assurance, constructability, design risk, and technical review processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, coordination, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • PMP, BIM, or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
  • Saudi Arabia/GCC project experience is preferred.
