IT Support Specialist (m/f/d)

Start date: as soon as possible

Scope: full-time, 40 hours per week

Contract: permanent

Location: Brandenburg an der Havel

Your contribution to modern university IT! Whether in the lecture hall, in research, or in administration - reliable IT is indispensable to everyday university life. As an IT Support Specialist (m/f/d), you will be the first point of contact for technical questions, contributing your commitment to smooth and modern IT operations.

Your responsibilities:

  • Actively providing 1st- and 2nd-level IT support

  • Actively contributing to the university's IT projects, including technical advisory support, taking on partial responsibilities, and introducing modern, sustainable solution approaches

  • Processing and documenting support requests in the ticketing system

  • Assisting users with hardware and software issues, as well as with the use of IT systems and applications

  • Contributing to the creation of user guides and training materials

Your scope for input & responsibility:

  • Responsibility for ensuring IT operational capability across a heterogeneous university environment

  • Involvement in university-wide modernization and digitalization initiatives with direct influence on future IT standards

  • Close collaboration with internal stakeholders, along with the opportunity to actively help shape processes and technical standards

Your profile: Professional qualifications:

  • Completed vocational training as an IT Specialist for System Integration, or a completed degree in computer science or a comparable qualification

  • At least 5 years of professional experience; experience in a comparable position is desirable

  • Experience working with enterprise network technologies (e.g., Cisco, Fortinet, Ubiquiti)

  • Sound knowledge of the M365 environment (including Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Defender, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune)

  • Openness to Linux and open-source solutions

  • Interest in new technologies and IT projects

  • German language skills: at least CEFR C1 (proficient user)

  • English language skills: at least CEFR B2 (independent user)

  • High motivation for continuous personal and professional development

IT skills:

  • Client/device management (Matrix42, Intune)

  • M365 administration (including Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Defender, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint)

  • Experience with Linux-based systems and open-source technologies
