Senior Solutions Architect, Travel, Transportation & Logistics (German speaking required, limited travel)

As a Sr. Solutions Architect at AWS, you'll build technical relationships with customers of all sizes and operate as their trusted advisor, ensuring they get the most out of the cloud at every stage of their journey. You'll lead complex enterprise engagements and mentor team members while driving customer success.

This role is within the German organization and you would be working with Enterprise customers in Travel, Transportation & Logistics, where you'll help industry leaders modernize critical applications, work on advanced generative AI challenges in areas of PDLC and SDLC and actively contribute towards shaping the technology roadmap of tomorrow.

Key job responsibilities

• Work directly with strategic customers to accelerate their most challenging, mission-critical projects and recommend best-practice architectures in line with their long-term business outcomes.
• Build technical relationships with customers and operate as their trusted advisor, ensuring the best interests of the customer always shape the guidance you provide.
• Share the voice of the customer to inform the roadmap of AWS features.
• Create and share best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts).
• Evangelize and educate about AWS through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos and conferences.
• Contribute to the growth of the Solutions Architecture organization by interviewing candidates and having a voice in hiring decisions. You will also help others develop new skills by mentoring team members.
• Develop and maintain deep technical expertise in domains relevant to your interests and customer outcomes.

A day in the life

Solutions Architects work hand in hand with AWS customers to help them make the most of the cloud. You'll combine business and technology expertise, engaging with organizations at all stages of cloud adoption. As a Sr. Solutions Architect, you're responsible for creating and presenting technical content and sharing best practices.

You'll own the overall technical relationship between customers and AWS, making recommendations on security, cost, performance, reliability and operational efficiency. You work to understand customers' needs and provide prescriptive guidance on how to create business value with AWS technology.

Your days will include leading architecture reviews, whiteboarding sessions, demos and technical workshops. You'll collaborate with account management, professional services, support, product teams and the AWS partner ecosystem.

As a Sr. Solutions Architect, you'll create innovative cloud solutions and showcase AWS capabilities to customers. You'll design cloud-native architectures with a diverse team of technologists. While AWS knowledge is beneficial, we value strong technical fundamentals and eagerness to learn. You'll continuously expand your expertise through customer interactions, peer collaboration, and hands-on experimentation, always emphasizing long-term customer success.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries
• Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
• Fluency in German and English both written & spoken

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing, building, refactoring or operating large-scale and impactful IT systems - either on-premises or in the cloud
• Knowledge of a modern programming language (Python, JavaScript, Go, .NET, Java, etc.) and/or scripting, Infrastructure as Code
• In-depth working knowledge in distributed systems, web/mobile applications, or cloud-native architectures
• Experience with specialized technology domains such as DevOps, Serverless, Big Data, Analytics, Machine Learning, enterprise workloads (SAP, VMware, Windows, etc.), databases (SQL/NoSQL), networking, or security
• AWS certification (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Associate or Professional) or other industry certification
• Advanced degree (Master's, MBA, PhD) or equivalent continuing education
