Senior Software Engineer (Java / Kotlin)
📍 Location: Berlin (Hybrid - 2 days onsite)
💰 Salary: Competitive

Annapurna Recruitment is partnering with a leading mobility technology business transforming the future of electric vehicle charging. Backed by some of the world's largest automotive brands, they're building the platform that powers EV charging services across Europe, enabling millions of drivers to find, access and pay for charging seamlessly.
What You'll Be Doing
- Designing, developing and delivering scalable backend services using Java and Kotlin
- Owning features from technical design through to production deployment
- Building and maintaining event-driven microservices
- Working with Kafka and distributed systems architecture
- Collaborating with product, engineering and architecture teams during solution design
- Writing clean, well-tested, production-ready code
- Participating in code reviews and mentoring other engineers
- Using AI development tools to improve engineering productivity
- Supporting production systems and continuously improving platform reliability
What They're Looking For
- 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience
- Strong Java and Kotlin development experience
- Experience building scalable backend or distributed systems
- Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging technologies (Kafka desirable)
- Experience with PostgreSQL or other database technologies
- Understanding of microservices, APIs and cloud-native development
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Exposure to Azure or another major cloud platform
- Comfortable working in Agile engineering teams
- Frontend experience with React, TypeScript or Node.js would be beneficial but isn't essential
