This role is primarily focused on accounting correctness, technical accounting judgement, and financial control.

The role requires a professionally qualified accountant with strong IFRS knowledge, the ability to interpret complex contracts, and the confidence to advise the business on appropriate accounting treatment. • Inventory, including engine parts, general stock, and work in progress.
  • Direct and operational accruals and prepayments.
  • Maintenance-related balances, including maintenance reserves where relevant.

Ensure these areas are accurately recorded, reconciled, supported, and compliant with IFRS and internal accounting policies.

  • Ensuring accurate accounting for right-of-use assets, lease liabilities, lease income, and associated balance sheet accounts.

Inventory and Fixed Asset Accounting:

Oversee the correct accounting treatment for significant asset and inventory balances.

This includes:

  • Accounting for aircrafts and engines held as fixed assets and leased out.
  • Accounting for engine parts held in inventory, including stock available for sale and work in progress.
  • Ensuring correct treatment of additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation, impairment considerations, and inventory provisions.
  • Supporting accurate classification between fixed assets, inventory, cost of sales, and operational expenses.

Technical Accounting and Business Advisory:

Act as a technical accounting advisor to finance and the wider business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Advising on accounting treatment where judgement is required.
  • Preparing accounting memos for significant transactions, estimates, or judgements.
  • Working with Group Accounting and Consolidation to agree accounting positions.
  • Supporting the implementation of new accounting standards, amendments, or group accounting policies.
  • Ensuring consistent application of IFRS and internal policies across relevant transactions.

Financial Close and Controls:

Support accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for assigned accounting areas.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and approving accounting entries and reconciliations.
  • Ensuring balances are properly supported and documented.
  • Maintaining effective controls over assigned balance sheet areas.
  • Identifying and resolving accounting issues on a timely basis.
  • Driving improvements in accounting processes, documentation, and control quality.

Audit Leadership:

Act as a key point of contact for external auditors for the relevant accounting areas.

Responsibilities include:
