What you’ll do

As Program Director Trade Transformation, you strengthen the Trade domain's governance, overall reporting and performance management, while driving the implementation of the target operating model and preserving Trade's entrepreneurial culture. You build, together with the Trade Management Team, a high-performance organization that accelerates activity diversification and digital transformation. You translate growth commitments into a phased, multi-year roadmap, embed robust control frameworks and governance, and transition the Trade domain towards scalable, model/ML-driven and automated strategies and execution — balancing commercial agility with strong risk discipline.

Is this about you?

• Master's degree (or PhD) in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or a related quantitative field;
• Expertise in finance (preferably also in energy) in combination with commodity trading or banking, analytics and risk management.
• Strong general management capabilities and strategic judgement under uncertainty;
• Proven ability to transform complex, high-performing trading and analytical organizations;
• Ability to drive digitization, model-based decision making and structural performance improvement.

You’ll be responsible for

You drive Trade's operating effectiveness and ensure disciplined governance, transparent reporting and scalable performance across the domain.

1*. Operating Model & Governance*

• Drive the implementation of a renewed Trade operating model;
• Define and embed governance, decision-making processes, RACIs and accountability structures;
• Monitor the effectiveness of the matrix organization and recommend improvements where needed.

2. Transformation & Advisory

• Act as independent advisor to the Trade MT on Trade transformation;
• Challenge existing processes and ways of working, and facilitate delivery of strategic transformation initiatives;
• Drive adoption of best practices in performance management and organizational effectiveness.

3. Performance, Reporting & Risk Transparency

• Strengthen performance around valuation, modelling, reporting and risk transparency;
• Ensure a robust control framework while maintaining commercial agility;
• Identify new reporting opportunities with FRM, Business and Business Control to enhance risk oversight and performance steering.

4*. Models, Mandates & Frameworks*

• Support the build-out of the Trading desk with advice on risk and governance structures;
• Challenge and provide solution directions on trade and portfolio models
• Secure, design, maintain and improve domain-wide risk-return frameworks, trading mandates and associated governance structures.

5. Organizational Leadership

• Establish and structurally upgrade domain-level operating models, decision frameworks and escalation processes;
• Strengthen execution reliability and risk discipline across multiple teams and sub-teams;
• Translate growth commitments into a phased, multi-year roadmap while embedding performance recovery. This is where you’ll work

You lead the Trade transformation within Value Chain Trading & Structuring and report directly to the chairman of the Management Team of Trade. You work in close functional partnership with the Program Director Trade Growth and the Finance Director Trade, operating within the strategic objectives, risk appetite and governance framework set by MB and CRT for Trade

Gross annual salary between €178.000 and €250.000

Including FlexBudget, 8% holiday allowance, and depending on your role a bonus or collective profit sharing.
