Sinclair is Hiring! Join Our Team as a Quality Control Specialist

We are currently recruiting for Quality Control Specialist at our Almere office in the Netherlands. The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for performing quality control testing on intermediate and final products in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), with in-depth technical knowledge across chemical, physical, and microbiological test methods. The Specialist supports method development and validation activities, coordinates weekly planning for the QC department in the absence of the Supervisor, and provides technical input into Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), including root cause investigations**.**

The ideal candidate will have MBO diploma in relevant field (Chemistry, Biology, Life Sciences) and is proficient in English and Dutch.

What You'll Be Doing:

Testing & Technical Execution

  • Perform QC testing (chemical, physical, microbiological) in full accordance with SOPs
  • Maintain deep technical knowledge of measurement methods and the theoretical background of assigned analyses
  • Perform sampling and intake of raw materials/incoming goods, and release them in the ERP system
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to QC equipment or testing procedures

Method Development & Quality Support

  • Assist in method development, verification/validation, and related QC projects
  • Assist in CAPA and change investigations, including closing root cause/impact assessment sections of non-conformity records
  • Report non-conformities to the QC Supervisor

Planning & Team Support

  • Capable of coordinating weekly QC department planning when acting as backup to the QC Supervisor
  • Train and mentor colleagues on complex QC test methods
  • Able to act as Supervisor backup on a rotating/as-needed basis, ensuring continuity of QC operations in the Supervisor's absence

Your skills and experience

Essential:

MBO diploma in a relevant field (Chemistry, Biology, Life Sciences), or equivalent through relevant work experience;

Proven experience testing in a production/manufacturing environment;

Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking);

Strong affinity for documentation and record-keeping activities;

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;

Excellent time management skills, with ability to prioritize workload effectively;

Strong understanding of and adherence to laboratory safety protocols;

Solid theoretical understanding of QC equipment and underlying measurement;

Strong problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

Experience working in a GMP, ISO 13485, or equivalent regulated environment;

Dutch speaking and writing;

Experience with equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ);

Willingness to be trained/certified as BHV (company emergency responder).

What We're Looking For:

  • Accuracy and attention to detail, particularly given the technical complexity of the tests performed at this level
  • Strong administrative and documentation skills, including SOP maintenance and technical report writing
  • Advanced Excel/Word skills, including data trending, statistical analysis, and structured technical documentation
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, applied to equipment malfunctions, out-of-trend results, and complex test discrepancies
  • Excellent planning skills, with the ability to independently coordinate the QC department's weekly planning when acting as Supervisor backup
  • Deep technical knowledge of QC equipment and test methodology, including theoretical background of assigned analyses
  • Analytical/root cause investigation skills, relevant to CAPA and non-conformity support

  • Team player, with the ability to mentor and support colleagues technically
  • Strong communication skills, both written (CAPA input, technical reports) and verbal (cross-functional coordination)
  • Resilience under pressure, especially given release-timeline dependencies and equipment troubleshooting under time constraints
  • Ownership and initiative, appropriate for someone capable of stepping into Supervisor responsibilities when needed
  • Positive, solutions-oriented attitude
