Buisness Risk Unit Analyst (Onboarding)

Country: Switzerland

Temporary position (1 year)

 

Responsibilities:

Support the Business Risk Unit team at Banco Santander International S.A. in day-to-day operations, with a focus on prioritizing and completing KYC/AML periodic reviews for low- and medium-risk accounts. The main responsibilities include managing new account openings by reviewing and analyzing client documentation, gathering all relevant information, and assessing client risk to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. You will also support service-related tasks in a well-organized and timely manner, gaining hands-on experience in client onboarding and account maintenance while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

You will support the unit with the following tasks:

·         Analysis of documentation related to account openings and changes to existing client accounts for both individuals and legal entities (e.g., companies, foundations, and trusts) across Latin America and EMEA.

·         Work closely with the Front Office to ensure compliance with the Bank's business policies, internal procedures, and applicable Swiss regulatory requirements (e.g., CDB 20).

·         Ensure compliance with client due diligence (CDD) requirements and applicable tax regulations (FATCA and CRS).

·         Review KYC documentation to ensure that the purpose of the account and the nature of the business relationship are clearly documented.

·         Perform KYC/AML periodic reviews for low- and medium-risk accounts.

·         Cooperate with relevant stakeholders (Legal, Compliance, Ad) to continuously streamline and improve processes and procedures.

·         Support the unit in the delivery of ongoing projects and other business initiatives.

·         Support audit fieldwork, including preparing files and responding to auditor queries.

 

Profile

·         Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.

·         Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in the financial services or banking industry, particularly in client onboarding, account opening, and account maintenance (e.g. changes to existing client accounts).

·         Sensitivity to the risks inherent to the function.

·         Strong technical knowledge of Banking, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, and Onboarding processes.

·         High level of discretion and trustworthiness.

·         Skilled IT user with the ability to adapt to new or complex tools and to use standard Microsoft Office applications efficiently (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.).

·         Good planning and organizational skills, with a strong problem-solving mindset.

·         Dynamic, proactive, and capable of completing tasks independently.

·         Adaptable, personable team player with a "can-do" attitude and strong interpersonal skills.

·         Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.

·         Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.

·         Eager to learn.

 

Languages

·        Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken).

·         Portuguese ,French and/or Arabic will be highly valued.
