VIAVI employees are fierce about supporting customer success and we welcome people who bring their best every day to the company – to question, to collaborate and to push for solutions that will delight our customers.

Join a team at the forefront of next-generation telecom technology. You'll work on automated test systems that validate high-speed optical networking hardware — the kind of infrastructure powering 5G networks, data centers, and AI-driven cloud platforms running at speeds up to 800G and beyond.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Run and monitor automated test sequences on industry-grade network equipment.

Collect and organize test results and performance data.

Help maintain test scripts and configuration files (Python).

Document test procedures and update internal tools.

Flag anomalies and report findings to the engineering team.

Application testing in the field of fiber optics/service.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Enrolled in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Fluent in English and ideally B2 in German.

Basic Python knowledge.

Familiarity with at least one of: digital electronics, embedded systems, Ethernet/networking protocols, or optical communications.

Curious, detail-oriented, and reliable.

Comfortable working in a lab/technical environment.

What you'll gain:

Hands-on experience with professional test automation tools (NI TestStand, LabVIEW).

Exposure to cutting edge high-speed optical networking hardware (800G/1.6T).

A front-row seat to how engineering teams validate and ship industry-grade products.

Mentorship from experienced engineers.
