Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Qarera (“we”) collects and how we use it, across both the Qarera website at qarera.com and the Qarera browser extension. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

What the browser extension does

The Qarera extension helps you save jobs while browsing supported job boards (such as LinkedIn, Indeed, Workday, Glassdoor, and others) and open Qarera’s free career tools for the job you are viewing. When you are on a job posting, the extension reads the publicly visible job details on that page — job title, company, location, and description — so you can save it.

What data the extension stores and where

• Saved jobs are stored locally in your browser’s extension storage by default. If you are not signed in, that data never leaves your device.
• If you sign in to Qarera, the extension reads your existing Qarera login token from qarera.com (stored by the website when you log in) so it can sync your saved jobs to your own Qarera account. Synced jobs are sent to our API (api.qarera.com) and appear in your Qarera job tracker. They are associated only with your account.
• The extension does not read your browsing history, passwords, or pages outside the supported job boards and qarera.com. It activates only on those sites.

Data the website collects

When you use qarera.com, we may collect the information you provide (such as resume content, target roles, and tracked jobs) to deliver the product’s features. We authenticate accounts using Google Sign-In and store a session token to keep you logged in. We use privacy-respecting analytics (e.g. PostHog) to understand product usage and improve the service.

How we use your data

• To provide core features: saving and tracking jobs, resume tailoring, match scoring, and the free tools.
• To keep your account secure and signed in.
• To understand aggregate usage and improve the product.

We do not sell your data, share it with data brokers, or use it to train third-party advertising profiles.

Third-party services

We use Google Sign-In for authentication and standard analytics providers for product metrics. Job content you save originates from the job boards you visit; we recommend reviewing those sites’ own privacy policies for how they handle your activity on their platforms.

Your choices

• You can clear all locally saved jobs from the extension at any time using “Clear all”.
• You can sign out on qarera.com, which removes the token the extension uses to sync.
• You can remove the extension from your browser to stop all data collection by it.
• To request deletion of your account data, contact us at the address below.

Data retention

Locally saved jobs remain in your browser until you remove them or uninstall the extension. Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted on request.
