With immediate effect, MSF OCA is looking for an:

E Desk Supply Advisor

 (Based in the Amsterdam office)

As part of the Emergency Desk (E Desk), you will play a key role in strengthening supply chain management for emergency response and preparedness activities. Working closely with the E-Desk Operational Logistics Advisor, the Head of E Desk, and the wider Field Supply Support Unit, you will act as a bridge between operational teams in the country programs and technical support functions at headquarters.

You will provide expert guidance to country programs, and in general support emergency operations, strengthen supply chain capabilities, and contribute to the development of tools, processes, and best practices that improve emergency preparedness and response across the organization.

Main responsibilities

Provide technical supply chain support and guidance to emergency operations and country programs.

Act as a key link between field teams and headquarters, facilitating effective communication and problem-solving.

Support emergency preparedness initiatives, including readiness planning and emergency stock management.

Monitor and maintain operational supply chain intelligence, including importation requirements, lead times, constraints, and key risks.

Contribute to decision-making processes and coordination platforms related to emergency supply chain management.

Develop and improve supply chain procedures, guidelines, tools, and training materials.

Support capacity building through training, coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.

Conduct field visits and assessments to evaluate supply chain performance and identify improvement opportunities.

Support the management and optimization of emergency supply chain processes and systems.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote best practices and harmonized approaches.

Represent the organization in relevant supply chain networks and platforms when required.

Provide backup support to the E-Desk Operational Logistics Advisor when needed.

Deploy to emergency responses and travel regularly to country programs (approximately 30%).

Candidate profile

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in supply chain management within humanitarian or international operational settings.

Proven emergency response experience is mandatory.

Strong knowledge of supply chain management, including warehousing, distribution, demand planning, and emergency preparedness.

Qualification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is an asset.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced and high-pressure environments.

Agile, flexible, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across different functions and stakeholders.

Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.

Willingness and ability to travel internationally for field support missions.

Full professional proficiency in English is required.

French, Spanish, and/or Arabic are highly desirable.

We offer  

A Dutch employment contract for the duration of 12 months, subject to renewal with satisfactory performance. This is a structural position. With a start date as soon as possible.

A gross monthly salary with a range between 4,269 and 5,877€ gross per month. Your exact salary will depend on your relevant work experience, based on a full-time appointment.
