In order to support the Central Research & Technology team, Airbus Defence and Space is offering a
PHD Thesis: Quantum Sensing for Navigation (d/f/m)

Your tasks and responsibilities
You develop solutions to integrate state-of-the art and new quantum navigation technologies into resilient navigation systems.
You simulate and analyse hybrid classical-quantum navigation solutions.
You are part of defining, integrating, and field-testing a flying hardware demonstrator.
You present your research at leading international conferences and publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Desired skills and qualifications
Scientific university degree (master) or comparable degree in physics, robotics, aerospace or electrical engineering, quantum technologies, or related technical fields.
Knowledge on classical navigation methods, sensor fusion and state estimation theory.
Solid foundation in mathematics, experience with probabilistic models.
Basic knowledge of simulation modelling and good background in related software tools (Matlab/Python).
First experiences in the field of quantum sensing is an asset.
Hands-on experience in the laboratory.
Fluent English.
