Job description
We are looking for a People & Culture Business Partner to help us build clearer team structures, stronger headcount planning, better manager enablement, and scalable People & Culture processes.
In this role, you will partner closely with team leads to translate business needs into practical people solutions. Your work will directly contribute to how we structure teams, clarify roles, support people decisions, and scale Wellis responsibly.
This is a good fit for someone who combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution: structured, pragmatic, analytical, confident enough to challenge, and able to turn messy people topics into clear plans.
About Wellis
Wellis is a fast-growing healthtech scale-up reinventing healthcare. We are building the first truly integrated health platform in the Netherlands, offering on-demand care for everyday health needs such as weight loss, hair loss, sexual health, and more.
Our platform covers the full journey: from diagnosis and medical assessment to prescription and delivery at home. By combining medical expertise, technology, and data, we make healthcare smarter, more accessible, more personal, and easier to use.
We are growing quickly, which means we are building the structures, teams, products, and processes that will help us scale responsibly. You will join an ambitious, international team where ownership is encouraged, collaboration is key, and impact is visible from day one.
About the role & team
As our People & Culture Business Partner, you will join the People & Culture team and report to Veronica (People & Culture Lead).
The People & Culture team is focused on building simple, scalable, and well-documented people practices that help managers lead well and help teams grow intentionally. You will work closely with team leads, the leadership team, and People & Culture colleagues in a practical, fast-moving environment where clarity, ownership, and good judgment matter.
In the first months, your focus will be on understanding team needs, clarifying role ownership, supporting headcount planning, and building practical People frameworks for managers. Over time, you will help us professionalise how we approach organisation design, performance, onboarding, manager enablement, people analytics, and employee development.
Success in this role means managers have more clarity, teams are structured more intentionally, people processes are simple and easy to use, and People & Culture becomes a stronger business partner as Wellis grows.
What you'll own
Partner with team leads on organisation design, team structure, role clarity, and operating model questions.
Support headcount planning by mapping team needs, challenging assumptions, clarifying priorities, and translating plans into action.
Build and improve practical People frameworks for manager responsibilities, role expectations, job profiles, performance, onboarding, and people decisions.
Drive key People projects such as performance process rollout, onboarding revamp, manager enablement, training, and people analytics.
Act as a sparring partner for managers on team health, feedback, performance, engagement, and employee development.
Use people data from Personio, engagement surveys, performance cycles, and headcount planning to spot patterns and recommend actions.
Create clear documentation, playbooks, templates, and manager resources where needed.
Identify risks, gaps, or opportunities in our people practices and turn them into practical next steps.
Support clear communication and adoption of new People processes across teams.
Requirements: Who you are
You have 5+ years of experience in an HRBP, People Partner, People & Culture Partner, Organisation Development, People Strategy, or HR Project role.
You are strong in organisation design, headcount planning, role clarity, and practical people solutions.
You have evidence of ownership and delivery: you build, implement, document, and follow through.
You know how to partner with managers: supportive, pragmatic, and confident enough to challenge when needed.
You have worked on topics such as performance, onboarding, manager enablement, engagement, L&D, people analytics, or employee development.
You are structured and analytical: you turn messy topics into clear plans, decisions, and documentation.
You communicate clearly and make People topics simple, practical, and easy for managers to use.
You are comfortable with people data, HR systems, spreadsheets, documentation, and project planning tools.
You are fluent in English.
You act with ownership, maturity, and discretion.
