Job description

We're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic Cost Management team in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates. In this pivotal role, you will deliver comprehensive cost management and quantity surveying services across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working collaboratively with clients, project teams, and stakeholders, you will provide expert commercial and contractual guidance throughout the entire project lifecycle, ensuring successful project delivery and exceptional value for our clients.

  • Deliver comprehensive cost management and quantity surveying services from project inception through completion, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client expectations

  • Prepare, manage, and analyze cost estimates, cost plans, and detailed financial reports with precision and transparency

  • Produce and review Bills of Quantities in accordance with industry standards and best practices

  • Support procurement activities by preparing tender documentation, conducting tender evaluations, and providing strategic commercial advice on procurement routes and contract strategies

  • Manage project budgets effectively, monitor cost performance, and identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements

  • Undertake valuations, manage variations, and negotiate final accounts with professionalism and decisiveness

  • Administer and work with JCT and NEC forms of contract, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations throughout all project phases

  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients and project stakeholders, ensuring transparent communication and exceptional service delivery

  • Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development

  • Analyze project data and provide strategic insights to drive informed decision-making and innovative cost solutions

  • Assess and mitigate project risks related to cost and commercial matters

  • Ensure familiarity with local UAE construction standards and regulations to support project compliance

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline

  • Professional membership with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent professional body, or actively working toward membership

Required Experience

  • Proven experience administering and working with JCT and NEC forms of contract

  • Demonstrated expertise in measurement, quantification, and cost planning across multiple project sectors

  • Strong background in preparing Bills of Quantities and developing comprehensive cost plans

  • Experience managing project budgets and monitoring cost performance on complex projects

  • Proven track record in stakeholder management and client relationship building

  • Experience in procurement support, tender evaluation, and contract negotiation

  • Demonstrated expertise in variation management and final account negotiation

  • Proven experience in valuation and contract administration

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency with CostX software and other cost management tools

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of project economics

  • Leadership capabilities with experience mentoring and developing junior professionals

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining organizational excellence

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Risk assessment and mitigation capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on projects in the Middle East or UAE market

  • Familiarity with local UAE construction standards and regulations

  • Advanced knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and its application in cost management

  • Experience with additional cost management software platforms

  • Experience in healthcare, education, residential, commercial, or infrastructure project sectors
