Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inspector - Marine to join our organization in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections of marine vessels and equipment to ensure compliance with international maritime regulations and safety standards. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, technical expertise in marine systems, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of maritime safety and environmental protection.

Conduct thorough inspections of marine vessels, including hull integrity, propulsion systems, safety equipment, and navigation systems

Verify compliance with international maritime regulations including IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, and other applicable standards

Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, deficiencies, and recommendations for corrective actions

Assess vessel conditions and operational readiness using established inspection protocols and checklists

Communicate inspection results and compliance status to vessel operators, management, and regulatory authorities

Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all inspections, certifications, and follow-up activities

Collaborate with port authorities, classification societies, and maritime stakeholders to ensure regulatory adherence

Identify potential safety and environmental risks and recommend mitigation measures

Stay current with evolving maritime regulations and industry best practices

Perform follow-up inspections to verify that identified deficiencies have been appropriately addressed

Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in marine inspection, vessel surveying, or related maritime operations

Comprehensive knowledge of international maritime regulations, standards, and compliance requirements (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code)

Technical expertise in marine vessel systems, equipment, and operations

Strong analytical and assessment capabilities with meticulous attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Proficiency in inspection documentation, report writing, and data management

Ability to work independently and make sound professional judgments

Organizational and time management skills with ability to manage multiple inspections efficiently

Professional demeanor and ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders

Preferred: Certification in marine inspection, surveying, or classification society experience

Preferred: Familiarity with port state control procedures and marine safety management systems

Preferred: Experience with marine inspection software and digital documentation tools
