Job description
ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology
Enabler for smaller, more powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips
Working for tomorrow today.
Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are produced using ZEISS technologies. As the centerpiece of every electronically controlled system, they have become an integral part of our everyday lives – whether in smartphones, smart homes or smart factories. ZEISS is a technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment. With high-precision lithography optics, photomask systems and process control solutions, ZEISS enables the production of ever smaller, increasingly powerful, and more energy-efficient microchips, and thus plays a pivotal role in the age of micro- and nanoelectronics.
In the Actuators and Sensors team, we investigate the physical and technical aspects of positioning and position metrology of the high-precision optics in our systems. Our task is to develop new products and to ensure the optical performance of these systems through modeling and simulation.
Your Role
You will contribute to the development of high-end EUV lithography systems, thereby preparing the technological foundation for future microchip generations.
In the project team, you will work on strategies to ensure the precise relative positioning of optical components
You will build a deep understanding of the optical metrology systems used in the lithography scanner through physical modeling and simulations.
You will develop a balanced system design, taking into account both performance and cost requirements.
You will derive specifications for the system and its subcomponents, for both opto-mechanics and opto-electronics.
You will develop numerical models of sensor behavior and their impact on system performance
Your Profile
-
You have a very good university degree in physics, mathematics, computer science, or a similar field, ideally complemented by a PhD or relevant professional experience.
-
You have solid knowledge of physical and technical optics and the motivation to continuously expand this expertise.
-
You have very good simulation and programming skills, ideally in Python, which you have already applied in larger projects.
-
You have extensive knowledge in algorithm development, particularly in optimization.
-
You have professional proficiency in English; German language skills are an advantage.
